Sorry, no grilled stuffed burrito, double decker taco and all the other lost items.

One taco? What is this, a subscription for ANTS?

I occasionally resort to Taco Bell tacos. I never plan on them.

Liar!  You said the story was about actual tacos, but it's just about Taco Bell.

I had gastric bypass about a year ago, so now I eat very little. Every now and then I'll grab a single taco from Taco Bell for lunch. It'd be perfect for me, if I ate there more than a handful of times a month, which I don't ever do. Who are they trying to target this to with just a single taco a day?

Yeah it's just marketing. Nobody eats a single taco (except in your rare case). Get bodies in the door, get them their free taco which costs like 8 cents actual cost, and they order more, more profitable shiat. Hell even if a person like you just gets their free taco plus pays for a drink, they probably made a 1500% profit.

There is definitely a (realistic) price point at which I would pay for a local delivery service to automatically show up at my house with tacos for dinner every [insert random weekday] night.

But not from Taco Bell.

And I sure as shiat wouldn't pay a subscription for something that requires a regular commitment of effort on my part. It's the same reason I never purchased season tickets for the Stars (well, in the before-times when I would actually go to quite a few games; now there's another, more pressing reason not to attend).

Who wants to eat Taco Bell 30 days in a row? Also, you're in Arizona. There have to be better taco options.

If this were a subscription to multiple taco restaurants in Los Angeles, I would take it.

I now find Taco Bell acceptable if and only if it's within closer walking distance of real tacos when I'm hungry. That hasn't been the case in several years.

Taco Bell is great when you want a soggy and/or broken shell stuffed with mostly lettuce, but also some "meat" made from shredded newspaper, and then waved in the general direction of a small bowl of cheese.

So this is a deal on the schittiest taco around? Because I have no desire for the schittiest taco around...

Seriously, are they trying to gastro-ass murder people?

What if they offered it for a limited time, but only with pumpkin spice?

Taco Bell might as well only be open from 8 PM to 4 AM. One shift. Easy peasy. Soft and squeezy.

I will posit that the majority of us have had our TB jones fix after a night out and about. But not so much when clear eyed and sober.

My nickname for TB is Midnight Sin.

You do realize we're talking about a mediocre fast food chain and not a camgirl, right?

which reminds me, whar my got-danged promisethreatened taco trucks? not even a smell of it 'round-hyeah.

I swear, with just my apartment-compound alone, not to mention the 3 other management sites to either side of us, they could make a killing on the daily. sure you'd prolly have to re-brand those "ethnic" foods for all the aged-relicts wypipo here, but pfft like that's difficult.

Around here, food trucks appear in one of 2 places:
1 - the exact same parking lot every day (sometimes the parking lot of the restaurant they are a truck of and the truck is serving food as well)
2 - Special events like 5ks or town festivals

It seems like the concept of actually showing up places and selling food is either unknown to them or illegal.  I know doing tacos like an ice cream truck doesn't really work because you have to heat everything to temperature and set up service.  You've got to commit to a couple hours of sales if you stop someplace, but in Boston there would be food trucks set up in the park and they'd rotate locations.

I'm in Indianapolis, there are better taco options here.  Many, many, many. This belief that LA and Phoenix have Tacos figured out while the rest of the country only has Taco Bell is frankly quite ignorant.

I don't think he's saying that at all.  Just that the closer you get to the Mexico border, the more likely you are to get authentic tacos.  And I haven't eaten any Indy tacos, but the worst Mexican food I've ever eaten was in Dearborn, MI - a long way from the border.

yeah the occasional local street fair is seriously the only time we get food trucks. and they're all from local restaurants, you just never see them anytime else. and I get that about licensing+permits+time+etc - maybe they do have number-crunchers doing the arithmetic, so then even several apartment complexes each w/1000+ tenants (obvs. not even half of whom would be customers) just doesn't work out vs. costs. too bad, 'cos personally I'd be eating there nearly 24/7 lol.
