We're done here.

As an original Muppet Show Fan Club member (joined 1978) I think I'd be obligated... but I'd probably also pay to see Muppet Frankenstein on Ice (because how would they pull it off? Like Circe duh Blue Man).

Or in a bouncy castle.

2021-09-11 3:27:09 PM
It wouldn't get me to a theater but I would sure as hell pay to watch it streaming.

Even though you buy tickets and pick your seats online now, I would still camp out overnight to be the first one in

Hell yass I would

Yes

I have Muppets bed linens, bath towels, Christmas ornaments, original cast album from the TV show, VHS tapes of movies, DVDs too.

Hell yes, I'd pay money for the Muppets version of Young Frankenstein.  Because you know they would do it, just like their version of A Christmas Carol was funny and accurate.

Oh farking hells yes!

Not in a theater right now, but I'd definitely pay to see it.

I really liked the Muppet reboot that was briefly on Disney+. Swedish Chef had a cooking show segment that was hilarious.

Yes, but as a counter-proposal I suggest The Muppet Rocky Horror Picture Show.

So long as the 'Muppet humour' was part of it, I'd watch pretty much any movie I've ever enjoyed done Muppet-style.

I'd even watch something that would be 'R' if it weren't Muppets. Sex and violence is fine, though I think you'd have to keep the swearing to the PG rule.  And I like it best when they match a Muppet's traditionally performed personality to the part.  Kermit can't be a badass, Sam can't be a stoner.

Id watch it, they did a good job with Treasure Island.

I don't see the Muppets doing the racial comedy without some extra layers of abstraction.  They're definitely not dropping 'N-bombs'.   If it was framed as human prejudice against Muppets, you'd have what, one Muppet?  The other way around doesn't work well either, because nobody wants to see the Muppets as racist assholes.  They're the (generally) likeable weirdos and underdogs.

The final act, though, that's pure Muppet chaos already.

We need Muppet anything as long as it's better quality than their Wizard of Oz parody.

I know, right?  Just check Google trends for the most popular movie of 20-30 years ago, and do that one.  Next year, same process but eliminate the movies you've already done from contention.  Ride that nostalgia wave forever.

I'd watch a Muppet movie a year.  Especially when they hit the action movies, especially Schwarzenegger.

Crap.  I think I may be really old, because I think most of his stuff classic stuff is now more than 30 years old.  This realization dawned as I hit 'add comment'.

I've said we don't need another A Star is Born remake but I think you just hit on the only acceptable exception to the rule.

I would pay double the ticket price to see this.

"The sheriff is a [BOONNNNNNG]."

"What?"

"I SAID, THE SHERIFF IS A [BOONNNNNNG]."

"I think he's saying the sheriff is near!"

"NO, I SAID THE SHERIFF IS A FROG!"
