I grew up in NYC. All my life I thought it was a prison. Today I learned it's a jail. That's not right.

You know what will solve the problem once and for all? More mandatory overtime!

Awful, just awful, I even went back to rewatch it to confirm, it was worse than I remembered.

I honestly didn't think it was that bad. Not one of the best, but not bad.
The big thing the pissed me off was that you have a Romulan Mega-Dreadnaught, and not a single farking plasma torpedo launcher. Disruptor cannons for miles, but no plasma love.

... I'm curious. As bad as Nemesis was, can you elaborate on "actually work as shields?"

The ship wasn't exploding around everyone while the shields were still up.

If one doesn't appreciate bad acting and inane dialogue, one will never truly know Star Trek. Star Trek isn't about "dialogue" and "acting", it's about Klingons and Romulans and Tribbles and Vulcans and tachyon fields and bad sets.

They didn't instantly fail or were bypassed and useless or were shot out before they could be raised, they were actually effective and the Enterprise had to manouver in battle to present stronger shield faces to allow weakened sides to regen a bit.

Well, that's the thing about pretty much all the Star Trek shows - they never show combat as we perceive it should be. The intensity on the bridge never seemed to match the moment. Compare it to how battles were shown on the Battlestar Galactica reboot. CIC was dark, orders being barked and repeated, background noise as various stations would report. It was hectic and it felt like they were in a battle. Never got the same feeling with the Enterprise crew.

So, the USA has moved to the 'killing the undesirable population' portion of civilizational so decline.

/ is civilizational a word?
