It's the first impression, but the whole thing is fun.

Anything with HFCS should be on the list to throw in the garbage.

Reeses have to only be that far down the list due to the prevalence of peanut allergies.

After all, they are the best.

This is a Halloween "fun size" Twix:

Notice anything unusual about it? Like how there's only one piece of candy in the wrapper? In the Twix wrapper? That goes against the core of the brand's identity. I made the mistake of buying them one year, but never again.

These are much better than Reese's Pieces:

They are bigger and have a higher peanut butter to candy shell ratio.
Reese's Pieces have too much candy shell and not enough peanut butter, they scratch my throat.

Well I'm sold!
Peanut butter can have 30 or more insect fragments, 1 rodent hair, and no more than 25 mg rat poop per 100 grams peanut.

This is why the Resee's pumpkins/trees/eggs are superior to the cups, less packaging.

The truly superior version is the dark chocolate ones made by a local candy shop, but I digress.

One of the best/fattest things I ever did was to buy a share-size bag of peanut butter M&Ms and a share-size bag of pretzel M&Ms and mix them together.

I want Reese's filling wrapped in a Belgian dark chocolate.  I've been told Aldi's carries something like this, but there aren't any Aldi's in Oregon and they don't market the cups through Trader Joe's.

I know this is not of popular opinion, but chocolate based candy is just not my thing. However, a Reese's peanut butter cup every now and then would be my go to. Maybe a Butterfinger.

Gummy bears, Blow Pops/Tootsie Roll Pops or Tootsie Roll Footies (fruit version of Tootsie Rolls) are more my jam.

This are also vegan.  Milk is a migraine trigger for my wife and she'd never had a peanut butter cup until I bought her those. It was eye opening for her.

Now I have to make homemade peanut butter cups for her every couple months or she talks about starting a revolt.

The body doesn't process HFCS differently from any other sugar source. It's all sucrose, fructose, and glucose in the end.

The only difference with HFCS is the proportion of the sugars--there's more fructose. That's it.

The first time I heard someone call them "Ree-See Cups" I wanted to smother them with a pillow. Of course, this came from the same region where people say "nebby" and "raadiator" and "the haas needs redd up," so I shouldn't have expected better.

Oh come on. If this were a food-based pun, it'd almost be amusing. Almost.

It's all glucose in the end; the only blood sugar. The same is true of long chain carbs like pasta and potatoes. The argument is that HFCS' give you the rush without triggering some satiety sensor. Kinda like crack I guess, you're left wanting more. It involves biochemistry and psychology and all kinds of deep crap. I don't use crack and the bulk of my calories come from the other white meat; alcohol. So the whole thing is a little beyond me.
