Seems like a lot when you put it that way.  But it's really only 1.2 grams.  For some people that's not even a Friday night warmup.

Truth be told, I haven't had one.

I just like that it is an obvious copy cat while simultaneously bringing up the "Is a taco a sandwich?" meme.

For this refresh, Doty said the chain has replaced its preserved pickles with fresh pickles.

... how does that work? Pickling is the preservation process that makes pickles pickles.

Unless they're replacing them with fresh cucumber slices?

Trying to make healthier food?  That's moving in the wrong direction if you ask me. Bad for you tastes good. One plus tho, maybe now their onion rings won't pass through me quicker than Ida rain flooded the NYC subway system.

I'm still waiting on the flame broiled Big Mac.

Burger King said customers won't notice any difference with the taste of its food despite the changes.

Oh. For a second I thought I might actually have to try out BK for the first time in 20 years.

That seems like a really stupid idea.  Pay famous people with distinct pseudonyms big money to market meals under their fairly normal real names, names that wouldn't stick in your mind.  That way, people remember a certain meal, but can't remember the name of it.

For some reason my closet BK sucks. The food is always cold. BK further away doesn't suffer from this issue.

I live near what is supposed to be the worst BK in this state, so I would be SOL if I ever had any urge to go to BK again.

/Been a long while, now.
//The BK in the old college student union is long gone.
///Was replaced by a Runza, I heard.

I'll go to BK before I go to Five Guys. My local Five Guys is expensive trash.

YOUR local Five Guys might be amazing, but MY local Five Guys is trash.

So if they follow the McDonald's model, they'll collect normal menu items into a lame celeb meal, with little to no change of the food, and upcharge 200 to 300 percent because its got some stupid rapper's name on it?

Mine too. And my personal gold standard burger, from Portillo's has been changed so much recently that it's been dethroned.

"In commercial pickling, a preservative such as sodium benzoate or EDTA may also be added to enhance shelf life."

Even "fresher" pickle manufacturers, like Claussen, who only sell refrigerated pickles will include Sodium Benzoate to prevent bacterial growth. Actually, it's probably more important for refrigerated pickles because they aren't packed with the canning process, which naturally prohibits bacterial growth.

I knew I loved billy crystal for a reason. Made that tonight for dinner but also with a bit of slaw and Russian dressing. And hot Hungarian peppers instead cuz why not.

/Have never seen that picture before

"the chain has replaced its preserved pickles with fresh pickles."  Isn't the idea of a pickle to not be fresh?  The taste of ketchup and mustard is mostly related to the preservatives which allowed them to last in the pre-refirgeration days which is when they became so popular.

I would like to see a massive reduction in salt.  I can always add it latter but I can't remove it.  It isn't the 1960s and I don't work a hard job where I sweat out the salt so I don't need it.

.

You can solve your problems with this one neat trick:
Just boil your pickles with a potato.
