The point of instant ramen isn't to recreate a restaurant experience, though, at least to me. it's to provide an incredibly cheap, easy-to-prepare, shelf-stable packaged food - no refrigeration, external components other than water, or complicated preparation methods required.

I mean, if you want to make frozen ramen, great - a high-end product comparable to restaurant-made ramen would be lovely - but it's still not going to compete with instant ramen, because they're two very different things made for very different purposes.

If anything, I'll have both in the house - a ton of instant ramen, because I still work for a living and need a cheap lunch which doesn't distract me, and a pack or two of frozen ramen (if & when it becomes available) with which I can make a lovely ramen dinner with all the fixings and a proper broth for both of us after work. This isn't going to replace instant ramen. Indeed, I expect we're now looking at "middle-class ramen."

Was there a ramen challenge? Or is that some TikTok thing?
Either way it's a waste of food.

I mean frozen noodles are how most chain restaurants prepare their pasta nowadays. Even non chains can get it through their food suppliers. Not really a new technology. Plus frozen ramen has been in the freezer section for many years.
