The popularity of macaque with the lady visitors cannot be overstated. Sorry to hear that being a stripper in some towns only pays peanuts.

This is exactly the crisis Peter Gabriel needs to break out of retirement with a full scale Balinese temple parkour game show involving Van de Graaf generators

Somebody is feeding the wildlife.

Generally speaking when the wilds keep to themselves they will avoid humans.

When humans feed them they come seeking our places.

Don't feed them.

Bali monkey, pranged his kite right in the how's-your-father; hairy blighter, dicky-birded, feathered back on his sammy, took a waspy, flipped over on his Betty Harpers and caught his can in the Bertie.

Knowing the tourists of Bali I can say that I almost understand this.

I'm sure people do feed them, but the Bali monkeys are sneaky little thieves. You don't see them much in the denser urban areas. The locals must chase them off. But when you get a bit more rural, they are all over the place.

I saw one run by and snatch a popsicle right out of a little kid's hand, which I admit, was pretty farking hilarious. Out in the jungle, eating at night outside is really popular and I've seen them sneak out of the darkness and grab food off people's tables then run. Another time I was walking back from the market and not paying much attention and I look down and this monkey is rooting through the grocery bag I was carrying, while matching my pace, trying not to be noticed.

They aren't very aggressive or mean, and they are kind of cute, but fark, they are shameless thieves.
