Honestly? She's the asshole. He did something way more thoughtful and meaningful to the relationship. A ring is stupid and vain, and the only reasons we even buy/want engagement rings is 1) sexism and 2) DeBeers running a campaign like a hundred years ago.

Rings are dumb. She's an asshole.

Women are a bunch of geezers who don't get it.  They're all like "Why am I converting my dollars into Crypto?" while hip and cool dudes are like "HODL!  LAZER EYEZ!"  They just don't get it.

Yankees Team Gynecologist: mr0x: Yankees Team Gynecologist: Crypto has an inevitable issue with security. I keep hearing that exchanges and software wallets are hackable, so a hardware wallet is the only way to go. But what guarantee is there that your new Ledger wasn't tampered with or replaced with a fake that even falsifies your wallet GUI and shares your seed at setup? You are after all plugging it right into your USB port, one of the least secure things you can do. Manufacturers and supply chains will be compromised if the incentive is there.

Most people WANT a quality, well-regulated institution to handle their money. If crypto takes off among the masses, it will be because the exchange/banking ecosystem has matured and become insured, with reversible/cancellable transactions, because shiat happens regularly and there needs to be a way to let it happen without becoming ruined. But at that point you're hardly different from a conventional bank.

You know a piece of paper is also a hardware wallet.

As long as you keep your key safe, you don't have to worry.

Put money in a well-regulated institution and that regulation also works the other way. They can take everything away without your consent.

How do you obtain and write down your key, or use your key later to spend, without exposing it to the risk of an inherently pwnable computer or smartphone? Like I said, shiat happens. The level of digital-security hygiene required to avoid it completely is unrealistic for 99.999% of individuals, and the rest probably are riding on false confidence that it just hasn't happened to them yet.

Regarding having your assets seized in an official manner, that's not impossible but if it happens to you individually or society as a whole, you/we have much bigger problems.

You're over-inflating one risk and under-estimating the risk of another.

Your assets are only a legal document away from going poof.
Cryptos have the same problem but it is within your control.

Crypto is too immature and scammy to be an alternative right now.

Both have security problems. It just which part of the sphere you want the security to lie. It all depends on the situation.

Have OnlyFans mandate that when a person subscribes to a woman, they must also subscribe to a man.  And have the money on the platform be spent equitably.

Problem solved.

I ran away.

Men tend to be bigger risk-takers than women. These things happen and it's not the fault of anyone if it is even a problem.

This is exactly why banks are getting into crypto in a big way.  Every large bank in the world is quietly adding crypto to their books.  At some point they will become a holding/investing solution.  Not to mention the inevitable crypto EFTs and funds.

Also, most major exchanges are insured nowadays.

If your Coinbase account is compromised because you slipped up just once with digital security, maybe clicked on a phishing link on a bad day, you're SOL. A bank would work with you provided you reported the fraudulent transaction in a timely manner, which could be at least 1 day if not multiple days. With crypto that window is exactly zero seconds.

It takes a bit more than that assuming you use some precautions like 2 factor authentication.  I have 3 factor on most of my accounts since I'm paranoid.  Somehow getting my binance password isn't getting you a dime.

And banks are only insured to 250K per person. So if you have more than that you will need multiple banks to stay 100% safe.

Is there actually anything stopping women from investing in crypto or is this just woke vitrue-signaling blaming sexism for women's own choices?

So there's no one to blame for the ecosystem collapsing, it's just one of those things, because men like to wave their dicks around, and really, you can't blame men for acting like little children?

yeah, that's about what I thought.

Pretty much.  Women are generally less interested in both investing and technology, so it stands to reason that there are fewer women interested in something that is both.

Because unlike men women have to live with the consequences of their poor decisions. Sometimes 9 months later.
