About 100km (60 miles) north of Pyongyang, Yongbyon is home to the country's first nuclear reactor and is the only known source of plutonium for North Korea's weapons programme.

If you think this is the only source of plutonium for North Korea, you gonna get a surprise.

Seems a waste of time, for them having one is as good as having thirty. They can't actually use them offensively and just one is deterrent enough from invasion.

Using inaccurate data (Florida actually pays more in taxes than they receive in benefits) to move the goal posts  (we went from nukes to talking about "derp" when exactly?) on a dumb analogy (NK looks kind of like Florida so let's say Florida is the same as NK).  Welcome to FARK I guess.

Anyway, this is clearly a pointless conversation.

It probably is..Plutonium is VERY VERY expensive in both cost of infrastructure and time, to produce..
The thing that North Korea can cut corners on makes it easier for them to make it than most other places.
They don't have to worry about safety, and they don't have to worry about the waste or cost of labor..
It takes tons and tons and tons of reactor irradiated Uranium to get even a very small amount of plutonium..
All of that takes a LOT of time and effort..Every little dot of plutonium is like finding a needle in a haystack.
What IS concerning to me, is that they might take it upon themselves to be a supplier..

IMHO this is another "LOOK AT ME, LOOK AT ME!!" thing..North Korea is DESPERATE for food..
They are utterly farked right now, and are tapping into their wartime supply of rice to keep people
barely alive..My guess is their threat is going to be, either give us food, or we'll sell plutonium to people.
It's a resource they have to exploit..It's more valuable per pound than gold and way more rare..
