"If I portray myself as a victim who could conceivably fall under the umbrella of the #MeToo movement, people will understand that I'm the real victim here and my "fraud" was really just a cry for help."

Lawyers who sign on for defenses like this should be required to receive twice the sentence of the defendant if and when she's found guilty.

Living embodiment of crazy-eyes.

This thinking on her part that she can commandeer the "me too" zeitgeist to get herself off from accountability for her own criminality is disturbing & disgusting. I want to see her destroyed for it. Hope it results in healthy prison time for her.

Seriously, way to send professional female executives 40-50 years back in farking time. I wish we could layer additional charges & punishment for utterly pathetic excuse-making.

As opposed to the Svengoolie Defense with a rubber chicken, but it only works in Berwyn.

Everyone that worked at the company knew she was completely in charge of EVERYTHING. There's no way anyone's going to believe that she was under the control of her boyfriend. You can't micromanage a company in that manner and turn around and successfully say you weren't the one making the decisions.

And she just gave birth to "get out of prison card".

Defense:  "How can you be so heartless to sentence a child to spend his life away from his mother? What did he do to deserve that?"

2021-08-29 11:39:27 AM
Normally I'd say that she'd be the exception to the rule that rich people don't go to prison due to her having ripped off many richer people. But the kids' gloves she's been handled with thus far lead me to believe she'll skate pretty easily. A token sentence would surprise me at this point.

I thought it demonstrated her dedication to this grift and the lengths she'd go to keep the con under control.  She needed him to commit fraud, enthusiastically, that maybe money wasn'tenough incentive to risk prison

This defense is projection. She used sex to manipulate and control him. They're only trying this because the trials are severed.

Why? It's no different than any other zealous defense, and it's not the lawyer's fault if it works.

All CEOs (and rich white people in general, especially of the CEO/Senator/megadonor class) get the kid gloves treatment.  All rights are scrupulously followed and new ones are invented just for them.  Not sure this will be enough for her, but you better believe she will the absolute lowest amount of time on the range of sentencing.

waaaah, some man took advantage of me. An executive doesn't get to claim that they're a victim of anything. You wanted equality, honey, and you took it to the bank. Now suck it up and do the time.

Dropped out of Stanford after her first year, because tney couldn't teach her anything.

I won't say it's impossible, but it is highly unlikely.

Apparently she was mistaken in her belief that she knew everything there was to know, and didn't need any help, thank you.

She's like a walking checklist of a narcissist/sociopath. She lied to everyone, fired people ruthlessly, was charming to outsiders but behind closed doors she was a toxic narcissistic asshole. She even altered her voice as a way to control how people perceive her. I wonder if she'll speak with her normal voice during the trial.

I think it might just work.

Her boyfriend she's blaming is older brown Indian guy.

I've seen the book been thrown at Asians and Indians.
I don't know what will happen when the jury sees an older Indian boyfriend being blamed for a pretty white woman.

Oh she really was pregnant? I figured she was just making that up to stay out of prison and was going to fake a miscarriage to get sympathy. Is she still using the weird deep voice too?

What's insane is that her advisor and a member of the board of her company was Professor Channing Robertson. Roberston was one of the primary scientific advisors for the tobacco lawsuits back in the 90s. He damn well should have known better, especially because one of his former graduate students was her first employee. He quit because he realized that the idea would never work. That is when she started frauding because until then it was just an idea. But the PhD student showed the college dropout that the idea was bunk, but she wouldn't believe him.

If she didn't give a fark about killing people with fraudulent medical test results, what are the odds she cared about whose tubesteak got to park in her vagina if it helped achieve her goals?
