chawco: I've got a bridge to sell you...

Is it over troubled waters?

I visited an Army Corps of Engineers research lab once where they were manufacturing entire concrete barracks buildings using a giant 3D printer.  It was pretty cool.  (I didn't get to see it in operation though, just the finished product.)

But does it go to Terebithia?  Or just Nowhere?

Hmm. I suppose that crossing a 50' distance would be a bridge too far for this technology.

Seriously though, it's a pedestrian bridge. That's not what needs replacing here.

Wait... wait.. wait... we may be getting this all wrong.  It might be something about the recording industry.  I mean, what do you call the middle of a song?

Could also be the bridge of a guitar, cello or violin...

Yes, but it's made out of logs.

Sintered materials tend to not meet the quality requirements for vehicle bridges, making 3d printing of larger and more important transportation infrastructure probably not viable.

That said, I'm not gonna call the general design philosophy behind this bad necessarily or anything.  Basically manufacture things so cheaply that it won't matter that they start to fail faster, because they can be easily rebuilt or repaired with cheap materials you can make or at least assemble locally faster than the shorter time it takes them to wear out?  That's entirely reasonable, since even the old way requires you to have a group of engineers constantly monitoring things regardless.

Next thing you'll know everyone you know will be on it and you'll be compulsively checking your bridge.

Can't focus, just think about the bridge and check the bridge. Once in a while, there is a really good bridge stuff there.

Well, thats not true at all subby. I would download a bridge. I just dont know what the fark I would do with it after that
