They ignored his cries of "pleh." He was delicious.

"Mr. Clotworthy" is one of the most Dickensian names I've heard in awhile.

Billy Liar: "Mr. Clotworthy" is one of the most Dickensian names I've heard in awhile.

It would be poetic if he died of a blood clot.

I wish he would have said "No" a few more times.

Would be interesting if they did a tribute to him in the next episode.

According to Penn Jillette, the S&P guys had the foulest mouths because they had license, nay remit, to actually use the words you were not allowed on TV. They specifically had to say the words that would get me filtered or suspended here or in social media during their briefings because there was no grey zones for what "the n-word" meant.

Salt Lake City huh?  Without a 95 year old Mormon censoring them I wonder what the show is gonna get up to now?

The opening to his book:

I'm the guy a lot of people thought didn't exist. I was the one who decided how much painted-on pubic hair could be shown on a nude statue on national television. It was my responsibility to define how large a bull's balls could be and still get on the air. And I saved the world from watching comedian Sam Kinison imitate a homosexual necrophiliac.

I'm the man they called "Doctor No," the network censor on Saturday Night Live, at that time the most provocative and controversial program on television. Many times I'd meet someone at a cocktail party who'd react when I told them my vocation. "You mean there is one on that show?!!" All I could reply was, "You should see what didn't get on the air!"

So...
How naturally OCD do you have to be to actually WANT to work in Standards and Practices?

Of course he lived in Utah.

He probably complained about this skit. The part on the table was supposed to be cut but there was a misunderstanding.

He hasn't worked on the show in 30 years. All the clips above came well after he retired.
