(Project on Government Oversight)   RIP Pierre Sprey, member of the Fighter Mafia that birthed the F-16 Falcon, and advocate of the A-10 Warthog, has completed his quest for low-cost & effective weapons. Hog sadly goes BRRRRRRT   (pogo.org) divider line

I will always love his savage critique of the F-35.

I wonder how many war crimes have been committed with the weapons he helped develop.

MillionDollarMo: You can tell a lot about a person by the extent to which they revel in the canon sounds of an A-10 Warthog.

incidentally, the canon sounds of a Warthog are its cannon sounds

I heard the Pentagon is looking for a replacement for the F-16.  The last replacement didn't go so hot.

Pierre Sprey is heavily mentioned in books on Colonel Boyd as well as Pentagon Wars (again the book, not the movie).  A LOT of people in the Air Force still look upon them with disdain (read comments under articles and videos about any of them).

Also, good linking POGO.  Their podcasts on different weapons systems is well informed, scathing, and accurate.

It went well for military industrial complex company stock owners.

Not so well for tax payers

AtlanticCoast63: ....Sprey did a lot of good, and he should be remembered for it.  But he and John Boyd were also examples of the saying, "Cherish, support, and stand beside those who seek the truth.  Beware of those who claim to have found it."

I prefer Colonel Boyd's quote: "If your boss demands loyalty, give him integrity. But if he demands integrity, then give him loyalty"

P. Sprey always gushed about BRRRTing down the Pentagon opposition.
