My home town. Now almost completely colonized, actually. Hardly anyone who lives there today is from there; we can't afford it.

Of course the history of the Hash Bash would inspire something new now that pot is legal. Fine, I say. Whatever.

Wtf is going on in Ann Arbor? Last week they were declared the smartest farkers in the country. Now they're all zoned out on shrooms? What the actual fark?

Somebody should probably check on those people. Something ain't right.

Why do you think the Giant Dung Beetle rolls the Sun across the Sky? To feed her babies.

Just because you're not "aware" of shrooms doesn't mean shrooms can't make you "aware" of all sorts of shiat you were never aware of before.

...I miss shrooms.  I think we've been apart for over a decade now.  It's like hitting the Nintendo reset button on your soul.

I have some residual emotional shiat from the past decade I could use 1000 new viewpoints from over the course of 8 hours.

Jeez.  Back in the day it was a big deal just to smoke ditch weed out on the diag.

psychiatric studies are being amped up in the mental health mushroom world. just from lobby magazine reading there must be a few folks every day thinking about giving it a try.

Nothing has changed with Ann Arborites and their psilocybin consumption in decades. I'm here to tell you.

Tripped over you lazy farkers in your shanties as I walked to North Hall.  Most of you camped out right outside the UgLi.

Wish I had the constitution to take shrooms and psychedelics in general.

But my anxiety would just lead to a bad trip I'm sure, where I'm convinced I'm dying or will go mad forever. Hell, I get that feeling from tension headaches.

Kava is my go-to when I can get it. Nothing like a freshly squeezed cup or three of the root juice. Favourite place in Vanuatu to do this was Bamboo Nakamal. Laying back on the ground and watching the stars come out over the lagoon, with a gentle whispered conversation with friends, some barbecued kumara or beef sticks, and maybe a single beer, then more and more kava until your mind is clear and your body completely relaxed.

Not too long now before kava import restrictions to Australia are eased and I can get enlightened again.

Enlightened as a skunk, I believe the phrase is.

I miss shrooms. Last time was in the late '90's. Former co-worker found some in the back of her refrigerator. We chewed 'em down and hopped the Metra from Glenview. Spent the day at the Art Institute.

Went outside to "chill" in Chicago summer heat, and watched a pro-Taiwan or Hong Kong protest across the street in front of the Chinese Consulate.

Went back inside, and laughed at the gold egg cup holders and goblets in the Gold room. As we were leaving, a security guard thanked us, and said we were so "smiley and laughing" they'd been tailing us for half the day.

I love that feeling the next day, when my smile muscles are sore from a good work out! Reminds me of how much fun I had on them the day before.

Keep smiling,

John

I lived in Michigan a long ass time.

Sounds just about right for Ann Arbor, if I'm honest.

what legislation?  legalized hallucinogens?  because i would break my sobriety like a Christmas cracker for some mushrooms.  they're just something i've never seen a downside to.
/you know, besides the trace amounts of shiat.

I shared this story with a good friend of mine originally from AA. I watched his reactions, which went wildly from "WTF, A2?" to pride in his city for being a little wild.

To celebrate the anniversary of Ann Arbor's decriminalization move, there will be a "sacred plant and mushroom festival" called Entheo Fest every September in Ann Arbor, starting next month on Sept. 19, states the resolution City Council approved Monday night.

9/19/2016 is my sobriety date from 2am in the morning when I had my last drink, a Natural Ice. It will be 5 years, by far the longest I have ever been sober since I was literally a baby.

Oh BTW I want to indicate I am not against any drug use, including alcohol. That is your choice to make. I do take medical marijuana, and all drugs I take are under doctors' supervision.
