Lots of things are possible.  In order for this to work we need to make COVID way more gruesomely deadly.  Dr. Fauci needs to get the Wuhan lab to work on that.

Sure, most of the unvaccinated will die, but that is a sacrifice I am willing to make.  I wonder how the world will do with a twelve year gap in population?

In fairness, by randomly picking the people to vanish, Thanos was trying to be fair. But he should have used his wish to make all the douchebags go away. Probably more than 50 percent of the universe but the people left behind would had built better societies.

I think the jury is still out here but the preponderance of infection in US deer populations is concerning.

And in news from June of this year:

Today, the Global Polio Eradication Initiative (GPEI) will launch the Polio Eradication Strategy 2022-2026: Delivering on a Promise at a virtual event, to overcome the remaining challenges to ending polio, including setbacks caused by COVID-19.

What Thanos did wrong is fail to account for exponential growth.  He should have done 90-95%, if he wanted a longer term solution.  Getting rid of 50% and destroying the glove was very short sighted.

CWS is indeed scary and spreading quickly.

There's like a million other things he could have done better. What makes him evil is his stubborn single mindedness to his literally half ass solution. Lots of threads about better ideas all over the interwebs.

Like he could have used the wish to open a bunch of doors to a multiuniverse where sentient beings never existed. So instead of halving the population, he doubles resources. People would just fark up that universe eventually. Same as his 50 percent deal though but with less pain.

Personally, I'd go with wishing all humanoids to become photosynthetic. No one living near a sun starves. Plus, all the agricultural land can be returned to its natural state.

The comic book story makes a lot more sense (the grim reaper is a hot chick, and he's trying to impress her) but it requires accepting several things that had not been introduced in the MCU so they changed the story. If you're going to complain about the premise of a Marvel story, you might as well complain that gamma radiation doesn't make human flesh infinitely strong or that Antman's physics are inconsistent.

Shut your mouth. The only thing inconsistent about Antman is his use in MCU movies. Most of them need more Ant man. Or is that consistent under utilization? Anyways... moar Ant Man!

Yes, it's physically possible, however humans won't do what needs to be done (i.e isolate themselves for 2 months).

My solution is to make getting pregnant a purposeful thing. Both partied need to actively want a baby. No oopses.
