In other news, Alibaba has a "chief people officer" and a demerit system.

As a supervisor... Just don't have sex with your workers, ever, in fact the less you socialize with them the better.  I've met up with people from work outside of work 3 times at my company.  I got a case of beer for a warehouse worker who went to school in Florida and developed a taste for Yuengling, you can't get it in my state but I was on the East Coast for a wedding.  We have a no alcohol on the premises policy, so he picked it up from me at my apartment.  Other than that I went to a wedding and a wake.

There's no training that can really be done on the subject.  It's as easy as "Don't fark your workers!".  The solution is for middle management to step in when this happens and deal with low level management... their problem is that they're as likely to be farking their workers.  Ideally upper management should then step in... but they're even more likely to be farking their workers.

The other problem middle management faces is that there will always be rumors that you're farking the workers.  As a single guy in my late 30's I can't take a day off without hearing rumors that I farked whatever 20-45 year old woman called in that day and middle managers deal with the same sorts of rumors.

Yeah, I have a serious dividing line: Always business, never personal. I'm not trying to be mean, but I'm a co-worker (a contractor nowadays) not your bestest buddy. I'm also not interested in taking you on a date young lady. This is work. I earn my paychecks here. Even when I was a standard corporate wage slave work was not where I found my friends, or sexual partners. I have a strict delineation between work and home life. I do NOT want to bring work home in any way whatsoever.

That doesn't mean I'm cruel, insensitive, or flippant. I'm professional. I also recognize that sometimes people have shiatty days because their parents (or god forbid, their kid) died recently. I'll cover for them in a heartbeat if their spouse is in the hospital, or they need to attend a child's sporting event, or something else. Even when I was a wage slave I didn't need to know why either, it's wasn't my place to ask. I either could, or could not, cover for them with my schedule. They are professionals, and if they're asking to get out of scheduled work they likely have a reason.

You know if more people treated work as, you know, work, we'd have less issues. There wouldn't be any of this sexual harassment bullshiat because it wouldn't be tolerated by anyone since you're violating the premise: Always business, never personal. We'd be genuinely shocked if someone so much as touched someone else without permission, much less touched them sexually without permission.

Quit treating work like high school. Work is for earning a paycheck not finding your bestest buddies, sexual partners, or future spouses.
