Since China claims ownership of most of Asia, they could include medals from those countries as belonging to China too

I was incredibly happy to see the table tennis mixed doubles go to Japan. Aside from being an awesome match and an upset, I love when the host nation puts up heroic efforts to win gold at their home games.
