Hope he makes it through! Ratt is way better than they get credit for.

This sucks. My dad died of liver cancer.

Well that stinks.

Ratt was a great band.  Warren is a really underrated guitar player from that era of great guitarists.  Too bad the band couldn't set aside their petty differences and stay together - they could have made some good coin over the last 10 years like Poison, Crue, and Leppard.

The current lineup is just one of many tribute bands unfortunately.

Ratt were a cut above almost any other band from that era. They had chops, melody, songwriting and swagger. Blotzer does NOT get credit for his drumming.

Cancer sucks!  That said, they were second on the bill with Iron Maiden, Accept, and some Irish band called Mama's Boys.  Ratt as a band was great! His "singing"  not so much.

Ratt with Maiden and Accept?  I can't imagine that now.

Saw them in 1986 when Bob Jovi opened at Brendan Byrne. Great show, chops for days on that Warren DiMartini lad

I remember it from one of Luke's descriptions of generic "edgy" rock like Buckcherry or Puddle of Mudd on his 'Rocked' YouTube channel.

Yeah...Ratt was an early 80's glam band with a good guitar player. Butt Rock was a late 90s marriage between grunge and von dutch hats plus drop c tuning and misogyny. Lots of misogyny.

You think that was something new to rock in the late 90s? Did you ever listen to or see a video for virtually any hard rock song from the late 70s-early 90s?

FTFY....I'm not offended by much, nor am I one that subscribes to the theory that things should be "cancelled" because some people have a stick up their ass about some issue or another, but popular music has always had a bit of misogyny in it. Go listen to some old blues or country music. "Cook my dinner, woman" "Lay down and spread your legs, lady" "I'm paying the bills, biatch, I'll do what I please". BB King had numerous songs where he outright bragged about committing domestic violence. Hell, opera has been male-centric since its inception.

I thought Girls Girls Girls had an appreciative undertone to it.

King was an amazing rhythm guitarist and wrote many of their biggest tunes.

Oh and the Jackson King V was designed for And named after him.
