What if... Disney stopped spamming us with every single piece of Marvel franchise they could fling at us, in an attempt to milk it of all the money they can?

The only disappointment I've had in any of the Disney Marvel TV shows so far is that they hinted Steve Rogers had died but never confirmed it.

I look forward to seeing it. I'm especially curious what they'll do with Marvel Zombies, since that's a very dark storyline and Disney doesn't typically do horror. It'll probably have to be toned way down, which is a shame, but hopefully it'll still be good.

Jezebel.com was originally owned by Gawker media and was later purchased by Univision Communications. It is currently owned by G/O Media.

Earlier this morning, the embargo for critics who were able to watch the first three episodes of Marvel Studios' first animated series What If...? was lifted.

And apparently the definition of critic is now "anybody with a Twitter account".

One episode of content a week. How will we ever survive.

If you want oversaturation, look at how many DC projects are on CW simultaneously.

More like handpicked fans who were guaranteed to love it before they even saw it. It's an obnoxious industry trick.

The series might be good, but stooping to the "Critics (you've never heard of) love it!" advertising gimmick doesn't spark my enthusiasm.

The Rotten Tomatoes model relies on grossly simplifying reviews for the sake of an often misleading aggregate score. But it's not done for the sake of promotion, and they try to include as many professional reviewers as possible to raise their appearance of credibility. It isn't the same as taking a poll on a fansite that blocks any less than enthusiastic opinions, which is basically what Disney's done here.

I remember when cartoons like this would be shown on Saturday morning for children to watch. Now the society we live in these are marketed and viewed by adults. If you are 30+ sitting around watching these cartoons, I seriously question whether you have the maturity to vote, drink alcohol, or stay out past 9PM.

I don't think you'll find a lot of people agreeing that Disney is putting out low-quality stuff on average. It's far better than anything Fox or Sony or DC managed (except Nolan's Batman films). If you're using some other, "objective" scale, you may want to share what it is.

Says a person who probably watches sports and thinks a bunch of overpaid, low-I.Q. hunks of meat in tights groping a pigskin and running around in the mud is "entertainment for the real adults."

You have obviously not looked at their catalog of cartoons from the 80s and 90s.

Marvel is getting better with their animated fare, but it's not been an easy road. DC has had Bruce Timm at bat for their animated universe, since BtAS, but Marvel just sort of threw together animated shows on the basis of brand, and then forgot how to write, animate, or run said series.

The newer stuff is much better, but it took a lot of work to get there. And their animated fare is still way behind DC.
