If dressage had commentary like that normally, more people would be interested.

I certainly would.

If Snoop is this brilliant when stoned, imagine him sober...

Snoop must have smoked out Kevin before they shot that. He was working overtime trying to keep it together.

The first episode was awful.  I'll give it another try.

Yeah but they pulled it together well enough.  Let's see how it goes is where I'm at.  I snickered so... seen a hell of a lot worse.  Standard dressage announcing for instance.  They'd have to go a long way to be more boring than that

I cannot imagine two people I want to hear from less. okay, Shailene Woodley and Sarah Silverman.

Just like Eric Clapton or Trent Reznor or a million other brilliant creative minds who we fell in love with.

Nope. Stay on drugs.

If they gave Razzies for "Most over-exposed annoying ass", Kevin Hart would win it every one of the last five years. You can't throw a rock at a damn television without hitting this dude. I'm saying this as someone who used to love his stand-up specials. Hollywood, shine the spotlight somewhere else for fark's sake.

I usually enjoy what these guys bring to the table, but this commentary wasn't really funny or creative. Boring, even.

I wasn't pulled in by the clip but wanted to see the thing for real before I commented. I like both of these guys but this is terribly weak. Was hoping it'd be more in line with Plizzanet Earth with Snoop Dogg, that was enjoyable.

They gotta do something to bump up those numbers...

2008 Beijing - 27.7m
2012 London - 31.1m
2016 Rio - 25.4m
2021 Tokyo - 14.4m

It's so bad, they're now trying to use Total Audience Delivery (TAD) to claim bigger numbers, but at 17.5m, even those are down about 42% compared to 2016.

Funniest clip I've seen in a while. I know all those movements and have done most.  Boring if you are not a rider. Unbelievably expensive at this level. You just can't imagine.  Open jumpers scoff at your putzy flying changes.

Maybe it's because they make it hard as hell to figure out how and when to watch the events you want to see live, and because their coverage is all human interest shiat rather than sports coverage.  If I'm watching a sporting event, I want leader boards and information on how the athlete on the screen fits into competition for a gold.  Not how they overcame being bullied by a wallaby when they were 13.

They do need to rename "dressage" as "horse crip-walking".  Truth in advertising and all.

There needs to be a Hallmark & NBC call for every event they show.
You don't like how it's being presented, go to the other channel.

I found the clip quite funny but when I watched where it came from, it was not nearly as funny, more awkwardly painful. They edited it to condense the funny parts.

Yeah! I mean, why would any of the 120+ sponsors care that NBC's hosed their ad money?!

After listening to that douche canoe commentator on the gymnastics and the half-asleep ones on judo, Snoop and Hart are probably the best commentators of hte games.

It'd help a bit if they had a laugh track, sitcoms feel bizarre and jokes are awkward if you watch them with the laugh track scrubbed. Never tried to look up a comedic talk show with the audience muted but I'd imagine it feels the same.

Overall it just feels off - but with hosts and clip in mind I wasn't expecting factual highlight coverage.

Why should anyone outside of NBC and the 120 sponsors care? It's not like the Olympics are going to go away. Even if they have to scale it back, they overdo it so much that hardly anyone would notice.

Agreed. Particularly sports people don't know- okay, team Bulgaria got a 84 in the synchronized diving event. Is that good? Is that "get the fark out of here, loser" or "holy shiat, just give them a medal"?
