Corn_Fed: OneFretAway: OpusSoup: Serious question: I understand this was unethical on his part, but I'm not sure I understand the clients' issue with it. They were expecting a random donor. Just turns out they found out who the donor was. Is that the issue?

Because it's f*cked up and gross, an ethical violation, they've all been cuckoo'ed into raising this guy's gene pool, and it messes with their relationships with these kids.

Only if they were wanting a designer baby. In which case, it's the couples who are unethical. It only messes with their relationship with the kids if they are complete and total assholes. A baby is a baby is a baby.

I'm sorry but... this is a really dumb take. If this had happened to me, I'd be pissed to, partly on principles, party over the ethics of it, but mostly because he denied these people the choice they made and did something abhorrent instead.

Several generations of children in that area well now need DNA tests to make sure they're not marrying their own siblings or cousins.

And Dr shiathead knew that & was fine w/ it. Somehow his ethics got worse over time. I assume it was some kind of fetish for him & w/o DNA knowledge like there is now there would have been a rate of birth defects from consanguination that was higher than the rest of the country, outside the intermarrying cult areas.

Corn_Fed: Eh, I don't see what the problem is. The couples wanted a baby, he got them a baby. I assume they care about the baby, not the strands of DNA, right? So who cares exactly what sperm did the job?

And that's how you get "The Boys From Brazil".

The fact that he impregnates so many different ladies means that wasn't random in the slightest in fact that's the opposite of random.
But you probably meant anonymous donor.
And you might have a point but it seems like something he should have disclosed who knows if people had actually been told they might have consented so he basically raped all those women

So let me ask this let's say you're married and you and your wife have a difference of opinion about having a child you insist on a child and she doesn't want to but at some point she acquies yes and she later comes up pregnant and this is a pregnancy you wanted but she really didn't want to but you bullied her into it are you okay if the child is not biologically yours

At least twice a year a new article comes out where a fertility clinic doctor gets busted using his own sperm to sire dozens (if not hundreds) of little bastards with unsuspecting women.  This has been going on for decades, now.

What I don't get is how the hell there can still be any unsuspecting women left in the world.  If the news is to be believed, pretty much every woman who's gone a fertility clinic since 1950 is raising the one of the doctor's multitude of brats.

How is it that anyone trusts these places any more?  Or are they just so farking desperate to breed that they just don't care?
