Oh I assure you Canada has no shortage of people who will set fires whenever they dang well please.

Willing to bet he had bare arms too.

How much do those robo mowers cost? I just moved to a place with a shiat ton of grass. The gardner is paid for but he comes at like 6am and doesn't pick up the clippings. Then he breaks out his weed whackerr which is broken so to keep it going he has to constantly be revving it. farking annoying.

This person speaks the true-true.
I have been among their people, I even took one for a wife. They are only marginally less lazy and stupid than Americans. Where most of them shine is that they have a more responsible   relationship with firearms and tend to be slightly more greater-good oriented than Americans.

/blanket assumption only valid in BC. The farkers in Alberta make living in Ohio seem like an upgrade.

Hmm if I can get a discount on rent it would probably pay for itself in a couple years. I'd have to trim the hedges myself but at least I'd properly dispose (burn, lol)  of the trimmings instead of leave them in piles around the property.

Was at the cottage a couple months ago and our neighbour spent the afternoon burning plastic. It was so relaxing.

I've been thinking of getting a weed torch for my yard. Obviously this is different than what this guy did, but still a fire hazard, especially in dry areas prone to fires.

It does. Not as easily as you may think, and it uses a lot of propane. Also, you should always have a water hose, with the spigot turned on, with one of those squeeze-activated nozzles in your other hand so you can instantly spray any runaway smoldering leaves.

That's a guy that wanted to start a wildfire, got caught and that was the best excuse he could come up with.....I mean, I hope he's not actually that stupid and thought burning his grass was the solution.

But, here we are....unsure of either

Read as "public groomers," works either way.

I have one.

It is GREAT for killing weeds in a gravel driveway. Kill the plant and seeds and all.

This!

They are also pretty good with dealing with Ice Dams on the roof in winter.

I hope you are kidding.

1) HUGE fire hazard on ASPHALT shingles
2) It takes a LOT of propane to melt a LITTLE ice.

After replacing the self-propel transmission/axel for my walk-behind mower last weekend I'm pretty much ready to be done with lawn care forever. Snap ring fasteners are a huge PITA, IMHO.

FTFA:
"According to the RCMP, the fire was about 10 feet in diameter, and had to be extinguished by firefighters."

I like how they have pictures of a massive Forrest fire in the article.

Hell, with a yard that small you can just get drunk and roll around in the grass for a few minutes, and that would take care of the tall grass. (Not with it on fire of course.... But instead of using fire)....  But, ugh, I suppose if you're really drunk (Canadian drunk) rolling around in the grass while it's on fire might seem like a perfectly good idea at the time. (Spoiler alert: it's not)

People know that for your typical ⅛ to ¼ property, a reel lawnmower is easier to maneuver, easier to push and no pain in the ass batteries, extension cords or gas and oil mixture to fark around with, right?  I used to hate mowing the lawn with electric mowers and just plain wouldn't bother with the pain in the ass gas mowers.  But a reel mower?  It can be 40°c outside and I'm still done with both lawns, the driveway (grass grows in our driveway) and both side yards inside half an hour typically.

This post is going to come up in your wild fire trial ala the Capitol Hill insurrections!
then the defendent, posting as "flappy_penguin", clearly expressed his disregard for the fire risk: "burn, lol". "lol" is internent jargon for "lot's of love".

Covid 19 is way ahead of you, and so are people who make their own masks from underwear or adult diapers.

Yes, we are all living in the Bizarro Trump time line.
