So the lesson to be learned here is not to get vaccinated right away. If you hold out, the government will try to bribe you with various schemes like lotteries and free PTO time. Why go for a jab now then? Who knows, next month they'll be giving you cash straight up!

Just make it mandatory FFS.

I'm still triggered by words like "The President announced today".  Too soon.

Kinda part of being an adult/not being a Republican is not spending your entire life thinking "WAAAAH BUT WHAT ABOUT MEEEEEEE?!?! WHERE'S MY PRESENT FOR BEING A GOOD BOY?!?!?"

Then what's the point?! Also, that was supposed to be a gif. I don't know why it changed to a still image.

lindalouwho: Boo_Guy: Are asshole business owners going to bother to go through the extra trouble instead of just telling their employees to get it done on their own time?
That douche bag restaurant owner that was on CNN recently would likely threaten to fire anyone that came to him for time off to get vaccinated.
Pffft just say "I have a dentist appointment, this day at this time."
It's not rocket science.

It takes two seconds to go get vaccinated.  I got mine at walmart.  Likewise with voting.  Its not TIME that is keeping anyone from either one of them.

And if your damn job is that onerous, looks  like you need to quit.  Not get another hand so you can continue to work until you die.

Not buying the snowflake excuses for either one of them.  If you can't handle your life because of work, then maybe you need to adjust your work life, not ask for more help so that you can work better.
That's not what you're supposed to be voting for.  And yet you always do--more daycare, more student loan forgiveness, cheaper college, more services to make your life easier, so you can work faster and harder.

But you don't have time to go vote, so I'm going to go vote against all those things.  Sorry, you should have organized your life better.  I'm not voting for a life of monied slavery.

Dont need to reimburse big businesses because they never gave time off to their employees.

I work for Apple.

As soon as the vaccinations were announced were told we could take up to 8 days off for them in case of side effects.  All paid.

My family's out getting vaccinated and I'm sitting at home getting paid.

Yeah, I'm WFH, what did you think?

Reimbursing is cool, but if you aren't going to mandate that they give employees any time off, then it seems pretty moot for a lot of workers.

this. Reimbursement is great, but if it's anything like PPP, it wasn't really as accessible to small businesses or the people who actually needed it as it was promised.

It was also ruthlessly exploited by big businesses

the nation's largest ambulance service gave us nearly a week off paid if we even had a low grade fever - even with  a negative Covid screen.

As someone who has frequent middle ear infections and febrile sinus infections, I got a lot of free vacation days

theflatline: People lie.

Like the lady on fox news who keeps saying her son gets infections on his face from wearing masks.

Since she's firmly entrenched in the fox news derposphere, any infections on his face are more likely to be from the meth he's on than any masks he may or may not wear.
