Created a batter of egg, garlic, black pepper, minced onion, and Frank's. Dip wing pieces into batter. Fry and flip and fry until they reach your desired level of cooking. (Might try adding flour for more fried breading on the outside.)

Drums AND flats.  I like variety.

I like them all.

If I make them at home, my current go-to is fish sauce wings.  Just flats, marinate in fish sauce for a few hours, then sprinkle with rice flour and shallow fry until crispy.  UNF.

Drums -- much more meat and easier access

Flats -- less meat and more difficult to get

Supposedly, there's a way to eat a chicken wing where you easily rip off all the meat in half a second, but I have yet to see it.

Hot wings -- Frank's sauce

Cold wings (like now in the summer) -- garlic mayo

This.

Braised in duck fat, then fried/pan seared to get crispy.

Also, blue cheese. Also also, celery sticks filled with cream cheese on the side.

The scene when (My Cousin) Vinny confronts JT in the bar about the bet is a pretty good example of how to gross out everyone you know with this one weird trick.

Me too, but I get more drums than flats because my wife is very much on team flats.

Didn't someone swallow a whole chicken drumstick (with the bone) or something?

5 lbs of wings
2 onions (small/medium)
2 carrots
2 stalks of celery
2 bay leaves
bunch of parsley stems
2 tsp pepper corns
water to cover

Simmer for 2 - 3 hours, skimming top of foam

Pour stock through a chinoise into large clean pot. Feed wings to cat

Enjoy the best chicken stock you ever had

Smoked, both, a mix of butter/chilli garlic sauce/siracha to appropriate heat.

1 - On the side of the flat with the exposed bones (the right of the photo below), make sure the two bones aren't connected.  Just a little twist with your fingers will do since they should be trimmed right at the knuckle.

2 - put the whole wing in your mouth using the opposite knuckle as a handle, bite and pull.  Most of the time you get all the meat clean, every once in a while you'll have a little hunk between the two bones.

Nice, that recipe is a 99% match to what I do. I don't use wings, usually the whole bird. I use a little less celery. I'll throw a few leaves in, they are super strong so you have to be careful.
I use the stock for chicken noodle soup, tortilla soup and a greek orzo, lemony chicken soup.
And yes, our older cat (RIP) she got the chicken.

Crispy fried, drums and flats, no hot sauce (allergic to chilies), Yoshida Sauce or garlic sprinkle after frying.

Korean chicken wings.
As for american wings, I prefer bbq to buffalo.
Dressing can be tricky, if I can trust their blue cheese thats the way to go, but bad blue cheese is horrible, so ranch is the safer bet.

Deep fry from frozen.
Place wings in cold oil.
Not hot. You'll die.
Turn up to 375°F
Wait till the temp reaches 375F with the wings in.
Take the wings out. Wait till 375F again.

Mix a bowl of Frank's Red hot with 1/4 the amount of butter.

Finish eating in 5 minutes while disgusting your wife with utterly fowl destruction

One time the missus reduced the stock down to about a cup. We made a veloute and spooned it over the breasts. Unfreaking real. It was amazing

Ugh, don't forget to put the wings back in once the oil hit 375 again. Cook till crispy.

That's my bad.

FrancoFile: Drums AND flats.  I like variety.

I preferred the drums, until I learned how to properly eat the flats. With the proper technique, they are easier to eat and meatier, and have a little higher coating:meat ratio than the drums do. It's basically the method that rosekolodny posted, except I only remove the first bone with my hands, then use my mouth to pull the meat off the second.

The blue cheese is not for dipping wings; it's for the celery.

Flats. Always flats.  Whenever my wife and I get or make wings, she gets the drums (which she prefers), I get the flats, so everyone's happy.

When I make wings, I just dredge in flour blended with some black pepper, white pepper, paprika (non-smoked), and a pinch of salt.  Keeps things simple, lets whatever sauce I'm using or making do most of the talking.

Seems a shame, though. My cat loves the way they smell, she'd probably love to taste it. But sorry Kitty Kat, no renal failure for you today!

Flats, I got great tongue work.

4 parts salt.
2 part each
Black pepper,
White pepper
Oregano.
Onion powder.
Garlic powder.
1 part cayenne.

Mixed and sprinkle liberally over wings. Rest in fridge over night.
Grill medium high until done with wood chunks.

Butter and franks mixed or eat em dry.

Blue cheese if I have to choose between that and ranch

Have moved from wings to baby back ribs cut into individual ribs and prepared the same way.  Pork has a little chew compared to low and slow ribs but the flavor is solid

Drumettes are basically slightly moister breasts. They're white meat, unlike drumsticks. Flats are like the perfect in-between of white and dark. Too bad there's so little of it per bird.

Even if you buy boneless/skinless thighs you still end up trimming them anyway. Buy bone in and save the money

I need this in my life.

My simple method:

Boil wings (this gives you a stock you can fuss about seasoning later.

Grill wings until skin crisps. Immediately toss with Frank's and a little of the stock.

Darn tasty, if you like heat, and less fatty than deep frying and using a buttery sauce.

I'm not sure if you were the one that suggested it in a condiment/sauce thread a while back, but I bought some original and hot of the mumbo sauce from DC. That stuff is like putting pure sugar syrup on my food. It's so sweet to me that I can't taste anything but the sugar.

Man (or woman) up and just take the gristle out of your mouth and move on. All animals we eat have things that aren't easy to chew. It's like it's poison or anything.

If I'm doing thighs, then they will be bone in, which will have even more things I might not want to try and digest.

As for wings. Flats are the best. They definitely have my preferred taste/texture. But as someone already said. Both is the answer.

Some people have a psychological response that gets triggered and shuts the throat down when they chew on gristle or fat.
