FarkingChas: My very first time in California. Many years ago. I was driving north from Palm Springs. One rolled across the road in front of me. It's diameter was as wide as my car. i had never seen one before except in cartoons. I had no idea they could get that big.

Try dodging them while riding a Honda 750. Hwy 58 just north of Edwards AFB in the Mojave Desert. Hundreds of them crossing the road.

If it's just one or two, there is no need to dodge them at all. They are fragile, weigh next to nothing, and completely crumble when you hit them with a car. They are too light to do any direct damage

Plowing right through isn't nearly the amount of fun as dodging them.

One time I was waiting at a red light and a tumbleweed rolled right through the crosswalk in front of me.

Although the sign read "Walk" and not "Roll", it still had the right of way.
