Atomic Age Gilgamesh takes that personally with Hobby Lobby's espionage tactics.

These people are despicable and all their assets should be confiscated and returned. Which they can watch happen from their prison cells.

Hobby Lobby, their pockets outturned.

Hobby Lobby should be forced into bankruptcy and its owners spend the rest of their life in jail.

2021-07-27 6:01:28 PM
Anyone with a Fark GED  in law mind telling me if the owners can be charged as sponsors of terrorism? I'm wagering all the artifacts were stolen by ISIS so I'm going to hazard a guess most of the money went to them.

These people can fark off.  And continue to do so.

Hobby Lobby actually hired a curator and asked her how antiquities were smuggled.  They used that information to smuggle.

2021-07-27 6:15:43 PM
Weren't they supposed to like... stop doing this... about 5-10 years ago?

2021-07-27 6:18:23 PM
I'm very confused.  The Epic of Gilgamesh predates Noah and his ark mentioned in Genesis.  Since Hobby Lobby was supposed to be using this antiquity in their Museum of the Bible, why include something that all but shouts that Noah is a reboot, not original and certainly not the absolute word of God?

It's almost like they're lying about something, but I can't quite put my finger on it

They get to keep Gigli, though.

They don't care what it actually says because they'll lie and say it says something else. Plus, they get to steal something from non-Christians

You think the folks heading to Hobby Lobby's museum can read the thing, or even know who/what Gilgamesh is?

"This stone writing from the time of Abraham proves there was a flood."

All they need to put down for the sheep.

You'd have to prove it, and show they knew about it.

Good luck with that.

Hobby Lobby purchased the tablet through Christies, which is possibly the most renown auction house in the world. Pretty sure they're not OK with selling smuggled goods. Even the feds are saying that HL didn't know it had been smuggled; and other stories indicate that the original seller faked a letter of provenance. HL and Christies are currently in litigation over this very sale. Christie's defense is apparently "whoever sold it to us stole it fair and square."

That said, there is hardly a field in the world that is more riddled with fraud than the buying and selling of ancient artifacts.

Epic.

If you Gilgamesh around, you Gilga find out.
Just ask the little man in the cuneiform.

I would not shed a single tear if every single Hobby Lobby were burned to the ground.

These accidents sure seem to happen often enough for Hobby Lobby. Maybe an arts and crafts store should back off of buying cultural artifacts in general.

Previously, they used a series of brokers located through the Levant for plausible deniability.

I'm sure it's some kind of Thule Society Golden Dawn Chaldean Solomonic wankery where they're trying to wake up a proto-YHWH Elohim old god to smite all the modern harlots taking that sinful birth control.

Don't forget they are major financial contributors to ISIS, and even though they gave them millions of dollars in exchange for stolen / smuggled artifacts, they are totes NOT funding terrorism, and absolutely not supporting the murder of US service men and women.

Why does Hobby Lobby seem like it's run by L. Bob Rife?
