And about a year earlier in 1964 the Animals released a version of the traditional folk song 'House of the Rising Sun' Dylan had covered in 1962 which helped convince Dylan electric was the way to go.

I met Bob Dylan when I was a little kid, and I'll never forget what he said to me: "Mumble mumble mumble." I remember it like it was yesterday.

They weren't so much pissed at Dylan as they were protesting the ear-bleeding volume Bloomfield had his Tele cranked up to while on the bridge pickup. Bloomfield was too farking loud. But it makes a better story to pretend all the folkie Granolians were Luddites.

So they weren't luddites, they were more like my grandparents complaining about that loud rock n roll?

You listen to anyone not named Albert Collins laying on the bridge pup for more than 10 mins., you'll get cranky, too.

PSA - I listened to the 36-cd box of that tour. It was so excessive I almost swore off the current flood of Dylan content. Against my better judgement I got this year's 20-cd Man On the Street. It's really good.

A few of his best are f*ck you songs.  This one is the least subtle, and perhaps that's what makes it so.

Heard it yesterday on the radio and wondered why I hadn't heard it in so long.

Idiot Wind is my favorite of his Fark you songs.

What makes his break up songs and other Fark you songs do great is that they almost always end up being in part self recriminations.

It was rumored that Pete Seeger ran into his car with the promoter, rolled up the windows, up  and yelled..."make it stop!, make it stop!"  The promotor quickly said, "I can't."

Bloomfield lived down the road from where I grew up, and played once or twice at our high school auditorium, more or less at the height of his popularity.
