The veterinary coronavirus vaccine makee, Zoetis makes Cerenia. If your dog has ever gotten nauseated and you've taken them to the vet, they've definitely gotten Cerenia. The emergency vet buys the stuff by the pallet. I think I have an entire box.

Monocultured: Alright guys, locker search time. Which zookeeper has a MAGA hat?

Records from Israel and the US show that getting the vaccine is only ~40% effective in preventing infection after several months post-vaccination. That seems to be effected by how long between the first and second shot, the longer the better. The UK, which elected to separate them by 8-12 weeks, has a much better infection rate than the US and Israel, which separated them by 3 weeks or so. So no MAGA hatters are necessarily involved.

Zoetis deploys animal COVID-19 vaccine for over 100 species

Jul. 02, 2021 11:24 AM ETZoetis Inc. (ZTS)Zoetis Inc. (ZTS)By: Dulan

Zoetis (ZTS +0.8%) has announced the donation of over 11K doses of its experimental COVID-19 vaccine to protect more than 100 species of mammals across nearly 70 zoos.

Developed in response to a request from the San Diego Zoo following a COVID-19 infection in a gorilla, the vaccine has been authorized by the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) and state veterinarians, the company said.
The deployment of the vaccine will be carried out in 27 states involving more than twelve conservatories, sanctuaries, academic institutions, and government organizations, according to the statement from Zoetis.

With an antigen similar to human vaccines, the animal COVID-19 shot by Zoetis has a unique antigen-adjuvant combination to achieve safety and efficacy for the particular species.
After receiving its first vaccine shipment on June 29, Oakland Zoo has already begun inoculations of its highly vulnerable animals.

"Up until now, we have been using public barriers at certain habitats to ensure social distancing, along with enhanced PPE worn by staff to protect our susceptible species from COVID-19," noted Dr. Alex Herman, VP of Veterinary Services at Oakland Zoo.

"We're happy and relieved to now be able to better protect our animals with this vaccine," Herman added.

Seeking Alpha contributor BK Tan with a bullish rating on Zoetis estimates the post-COVID-19 growth prospects of the company.
