The fact that many so-called Christians were full throated Trump backers tells you everything you need to know about them.

Trump was the closest thing to what they wanted.  Someone like Tom Cotton will be the next chosen one.

We need to bring back the assault on Christian Scientists to use on them.  You don't even have to retool it very much.

is christian nationalism necessary in a nation that's like 70% christian and run pretty much exclusively by christians

It helps when you realize the reason we have the term "Christian Nationalists" is because the journalists were too farking hung over to remember the term Dominionism during a previous deadline.

It's impolite too discuss religion or politics...

Well, there's "christian", and then there's "Christian!"

I'm a non-attending nominal christian (Episcopal, if I have to put anything on paper), but I'm completely against this Dominionist bullsh*t.

A pox on the Evangelicals and their desire to have everyone believe what they do. and live their lives by their rules. We'd be a far better country if everyone just agreed to "live and let live".

It's time to stop calling these people Christians.

Or, call people who try to follow the Gospels "followers of Jesus" or something.

It is if you're one of those in the 70% that want the other 30% turned into either slaves or put into death camps so you can have someone de-humanized and suffering to feel superior to.

A lot of people, myself included, have been screaming warnings about authoritarian christian churches for a long time. We have been laughed at, ignored, threatened and shoved aside.
Nice to see mainstream media finally catching up to us tho. Not that they'll give credit to those who actually sounded the warning mind you. But at least the journalists are paying attention...for the next couple of moments anyways.

I have this ominous feeling that the world, as a whole, is about to have a good'ol last final go at the Invisible Sky Wizard LARP. We will come to blows and either end up on the theocracy as only form of governance or crest the need for suspension of disbelief and delegate the unprovable beliefs to the myths of history and excise the 'under sky wizard' from our legal systems. Given how the religious peoples react by the simplest of mockery thrust upon them, and ample historic precedents, I expect this to be a bloody ordeal. May the sane ones prevail.

As an aside, you can leave a cult and you will be given support in society, but you can't leave the church and receive the same. It is always assumed you strayed and will be back like a good peon. That mentality is how we still have this malaise in our societies. In Canada, we are about to have a chat what it means to be a ruled by a queen, ordained by god to be ruler on earth, the atrocities committed on the Indigenous people will force our hands.

Coyotes are considered a different species from. Dogs, yet Huskies and Pugs are considered the same. All can interbreed. I say we can paint with a very wide brush here.

They are a persecuted minority!  But also the moral majority!  And if you take God out of morality, everyone will commit crimes, which is why nearly every convicted prisoner in the USA is christian!!
/Something like that, maybe ALL CAPS, incoherent rambling.
//The majority of people threatened and kids thrown into concentration camps by the very christian Donald Trump were in fact christian refugees, not unlike that Jewish fella two thousand years ago.

Christian nationalists are traitors to their god and the United States.

One more and they got a hat trick!

/Of course...their god is actually money/power, not that Father/son/holy ghost chimera.
//They wrap it in Jesus because, historically, we're not permitted to publicly criticize religion.
///But that ban on criticism was a gentlemen's agreement.

It's easier to simply believe people when they tell you their religion than to try to be the Linneus of theology.

I hear Haiti is looking for a new government.  Somalia might like a nice, Christian based government.  Why don't they all go there and ask them.

Might be a good grift:  The Christian nation of Haiti needs your contributions now!  Text Grift to ~1234 to send $10 now.  Every bit makes Jesus smile knowing you're supporting a Christian nation here on Earth.

10% goes to the 'charity' organizer.
12% to Chosen by God President for Life
10% golf course subsidy
10% Ivanka Upkeep
