If you're going to Walmart to buy pretzel bites filled with beer cheese, nutrition is probably near the bottom of your priority list

What's wrong with cheese-filled pretzel bites?

Well for one thing 850 mg of sodium for the Walmart ones compared to 160 mg for yours.

That's probably 850 mg of sodium per bite, too.

Meh, it's a sodium list. You could do it for any grocery store in the nation.

Pretzels are a waste of perfectly good flour and salt.

An ETNT article? I'll save the minute it would take to click and mock and floss the cat instead. Less painful and more useful

Look all these sugary/salty foods have a lot of sugar/salt in them!

And here I was thinking this was gonna be like one of those articles where they tell you which Trader Joe's brand items you should avoid. Nope, this one is "Don't buy known salty things because they're like really super salty though." K, thanks.

That might be the strangest masturbation euphemism I've ever heard.

Every one of those carries Walmart's private label.  Are the ETNT staffers too dumb to understand that Walmart doesn't make or package the stuff?  AFAIK, it's all done by other outfits, most of whom produce cans/packages with their own labels as well, the contents of which are probably identical to the WalMart versions.  Why not call them out as well?

I can get frozen American crawfish tails / whole crawfish & hormone free lamb from wallyworld, so I do.

ooh I did not know that about the mudbugs, a trip may be in order (otherwise the only thing I might buy is milk or eggs... but only if I'm there for a deal on new tires lol)

/also I like how they felt some need to write montecarlo instead of montecristo

Check first on the web ( include the actual store ) as not all carry everything. I go there mostly because someone like grass fed milk , and they are a dollar cheaper than the other stores. It adds up - 2 gallons a week.

Who could have imagined that something called cookie butter would be bad for you? Cookie butter? It sounds so friendly!

foodtab has previously informed me that I need to go a bit more alkaline-heavy in the pH-ing of my soft-brezel'n, but I'm not quite yet willing to try on lye...

ah cool, thanks. yeah, me personally, that whole 1gal milk "challenge" makes me laugh, I can chug an entire one in minutes and not-in-the-slightest-intestinal-fortitude-challenged. I should really make a living doing bar-bets? it's more like I have to restrain myself lest we need to buy an extra gallon that week lol. (but yeah I'll also make sure to call wallyworld first about the crayfish it's not exactly something I'd expect them to have on the daily)

I... yeah. I mean, to each their own, right? - I myself always enjoyed the speculaas/speculoos actual-cookies, but then to turn it into a spreadable substance and then... sell/market it the stuff spread on the very same parent-cookies, just seemed... strange. possibly-incestuous. then again I am an odd duck who detests raw cookie dough and the ice cream iteration thereof, so I'll readily admit mine own preferences as suspect.

If people didn't rag we wouldn't  have anything here to read but pretty much done in one; salt, sugar, fat.
I should know better than to anticipate some awe inspiring lead paint in zinc encrusted plutonium based, yellow cake doughnut mix. Nothing to see here! Move along.

It's hard to really say what a pink snowball cake actually is, but just one of these is more than 200 calories and has 24 grams of sugar. Along with those 230 grams of sodium, this is one treat that isn't going to help you stay on track with your health goals.

Like people eating these are thinking about their health goals.

I have never tried those. We try to avoid a lot of beef. But I will think about that- a burger is nice from time to time.

Also please note: the Walmart "Equate" brand does not equate.

During the TP crisis of 2020, I bought my mother some Equate brand wipes, they gave her a bad rash.

Go to walmart if you must, but avoid all the store brands.

Sam's, Costco, and Publix store brands, those are decent products,

Cookie butter is great but loaded with fat and sugar, so try to limit yourself to 1/2 jar per day max. It's not easy!

I haven't had heavy syrup in a long time. I should get something in it.
