Are we supposed to feel sorry for folks who intentionally spent money to see Kanye?  They got what they deserved for following that loon.

If you are dumb enough to attend something like this, you are dumb enough to drop $50 on chicken tenders.

The dude is clearly not well, and surrounded by people that would rather cash in on his fame than help him find help to treat his mental illness.

Honestly, every story about him just kinda makes me feel sorry for him.

Kanye fans are the musical equivalent of Trump supporters.  I have never met one who wasn't deluded and none of them are knowledgeable about music.  They falsely attribute all sorts of things to him, such as inventing the sped up soul vocal sample, creating jazz rap, soul rap, and even punk rap.  They think the noise tracks on "Yeezus" were groundbreaking and so on.

Kanye and his fans are just a whole lotta hype and hot air.

And like, not see Kanye perform, but pay money to sit in a stadium with other people to listen to an album.

Whatever happened to hitting the drive-thru/calling for delivery, having friends swing by, smoking a joint, and listening to a new album?

I'm not a fan, never really enjoyed his production. Hating Jay Z's voice probably didn't help. But, dude is a talented producer , though genius is probably a stretch.

Exactly. Iron Maiden is going to be releasing their new album and I'm going to celebrate it by buying the album. I might buy it twice, once digitally and once on vinyl simply because I'm starting to enjoy having vinyl again.

Stop with the unearned hero-worship.

Yeah I've never even heard of anything approaching that outside of private charity events where everything's stupid-priced as a donation tool

For some older recordings I'm starting to understand the appeal of vinyl.  Some stuff is just such shiat-fidelity of a recording in the first place by modern standards that without the record pop and hiss it sounds pretty damn awful.  At least that spackles the recording cracks on ancient stuff pretty inoffensively

Some of his early music showed a little talent, but there's tons of producers I'd rank higher.  Madlib, J. Dilla, the Bomb Squad, DJ Shadow, Dan the Automator, Prince Paul, etc.

When people start going nutty over his more experimental stuff on "Yeezus," I link to Techno Animal's "The Brotherhood of the Bomb."  That shuts most of them up.

(and if you're a fan of Jesu, Godflesh, the Bug, King Midas Sound, etc. you should probably own it already.)

Cripes and he fleeced them like he always does and they will come back for more. I used to work at a lot of album release parties and probably the best was for Madonna. It was at a gay club and the male wait staff was all in drag of Madonna at various stages in her career. She wasn't there and was not advertised to be there but it was still a lot of fun and the drinks were not overpriced like at this shiatshow.

I did work with a big Kanye fan and got a nice laugh at him when he was trying to sell the $180 white t shirt.
