SO HAPPY THIS SHOW IS BACK

That said, it started out a bit rough... I rolled my eyes at Ted's way too on the nose dog speech to Trent Crimm- but knowing that the first 15 minutes was used as a way to reestablish old characters and make it an entry point for anyone who missed season 1 made it easier to stomach. It got much better when the therapist was introduced and Roy finally got some screentime.

/The visual of Dani getting blood splashed on his face made me cackle
//So did Roy's yoga group

Season one was one of the best things I've ever seen. Haven't started 2 yet, but I'm looking forward to it.

My husband and I loved season 1. Looking forward to season 2. Such a feel good show and funny as hell.

Smells like potential.

I'll admit I went in not knowing quite what to expect...

Holy hell is that a wonderful show!

I've been trying to get people to watch this. And so often the response is "I don't really like football". And how to explain that the show about football really has nothing to do with football.

Now. Do I watch weekly, or wait and binge.

For a guy that's here, there, and every farking where, I've sure missed Roy Kent.

Amazing show, but I want to bank a few episodes before I dive back in.

I finished rewatching Season 1 last week and found it as enjoyable, if not more so, as watching for the first time.  I watch far too much television as it is, but I can't watch this enough.

There's just so many brilliant moments. Outside of the darts scene, the moment where Coach Beard just flips and insists that winning does matter is just a brilliant little character beat.

Such a marvelous rip-off. Except that he can learn and move forward, making him nothing like the underlying character.

It's like Moneyball. I don't give AF about baseball, but that's a great movie.

Not gonna watch it until late september to binge the entire season. One episode per week is bullshiat.

A couple days ago Mrs Clam read me someone's review about how they loved the show, but had avoided watching it like the plague because it looked like a sports show where some asshole American goes over to England and acts like an asshole, and that was the last farking thing she wanted to watch after Trump, and the fact that this show succeeded despite its lousy marketing was purely through word of mouth.

/I avoided watching the show for that very reason. I'm glad Mrs C asked me to get it for her.

So, at the risk of getting "too real" for Fark, there's a lot of shiat in my life that's not right for me. Frequently, in conversations with my therapist, I'll describe things as being: "Fine". It's just... fine. Especially certain close relationships: it's just fine.

So when Roy Kent said this about Rebecca's new boyfriend:
"He's fine. That's it. Nothing wrong with that, most people are fine. It's not about him, it's about why you think he deserves you. You should be with someone who makes you feel like you've been struck by farking lightning. Don't you dare settle for fine."Well, let me just say that... I was watching the episode way too early in the morning to be hit with anything that real.

I want to watch this, but hell if I'm getting yet another ThreeGreatShowsAndLotsOfCrap+ subscription.

Incredibly overrated show. I'll never want to see live action Flanders ever again.

The shiat isn't even funny or feel good. As claimed. You probably cannot identify your emotions correctly. Meh.

The neatest thing is that the guy who plays Roy Kent was one of the show's writers and was never intended to have a part in the show.

He just sent in an audition tape.

Also love the show without caring about the sport, though it is teaching me a few rudiments as it goes.

While not as cheerful as Ted Lasso, if you liked money all without caring much about baseball, I'd strongly recommend you take a look at "Brockmire". Jank Azari is a baseball snnouncan who had an on air breakdown and descended into debauchery and druhs and alcoholic madness...only to make a long, interesting climb back to tedemption. It is horribly profane, amazingly funny, and it really communicates and explains a love for "America's Pastime"  that is reverent and touching. Was on AMC originally, damfino where to watch it now but finding it will be rewarding.

That episode exceeded my high expectations.

*Grumble*

And now I have to wait a week.  Harumph!

If it wasn't for Roy's C plot bits, I probably would have been thumbs down on this episode. Both the main A plot with Ted, Rojas and the shrink, and Rebecca's B plot were pretty mediocre.

I'm certainly not giving up on the show, but I hope that was just a weak start.

Hank Azaria, of Simpsons fame. I explained my typos from before. See Brockmire, you will love it.

For me, he SAVED that episode. It was one of the weakest I've seen, except for the parts he's in.

Wasn't the whole point of the episode foreshadowing that the new doctor has the ability to help Rebecca, Ted and Coach Beard get over their fear of relationships?

Not to mention help Roy Kent accept life after the "Futbol is life" phase ends.

I have a feeling we are in for a lot of character growth this season.

Fix Jamie Tart in season 3?

I often try to do "if you liked X and Y, you'll like..."

And the best I can do is the Good Place, Parks and Rec, and maybe... Schitt's Creek?

Shows that explore genuine emotion and mature ideas about the world, our place in it, and what we owe each other.

Maybe Marvelous Mrs Maisel, too?

Started a bit sluggish, but ramped up and they saved the best joke for last!  For me, it's just a nice tonic, a few minutes with pleasant and fun characters that makes me feel nice.  Nice.

I re-watched the first season a few weeks ago.  I NEVER do that except for my very favorite shows.  I'm doing with 'Sports Night' right now.  You can't beat Aaron Sorkin with a snoot full IYKWIM.

Ted Lasso was always a problem fixer but he is going to realize that some things he cannot fix. He was hit with that hard in Season 1, but his job is a surrogate for that. The Doctor is the anti-Lasso which is going to be really frustrating for him that he cannot even do that for his own team.

Only for a show as great as Ted Lasso would S2E1 be seen as a weak showing.

/S2 could use more Flo Collins, aka Sassy
