Hold on what office did Tom Waits run for and when?

I would have voted for him if  I'd known.

They meant "running buddy". A old-skool phrase for BFF.

I was just thinking about him the other day. Damn.

Ah man...I used to see him and The Goddamn Liars all the time here in L.A. years ago. Losing a lot of familiars now that I'm 62.

If people can't get running mate there's probably no hope for this thread anyway.

I still remember his song So long. (He is probably the most underrated artist in music history) A real old school. Sometimes genius is right before us and we don't see it.

I remember seeing Rickie Lee Jones at the Showbox in Seattle when she still lived in Olympia. Her take on him was interesting...

Rickie showed up on Marc Maron podcast a few months back.  very good listen.  Chuck comes up obviously, speaking of "her take on him was interesting", she had a lot to say about Tom Waits.  Highly recommend this.
