*sigh* This cannot come as a surprise to anybody who has been paying attention to what these assholes are all about.

Why the hell is it called a "loan" when its a give away?

Either "grant" or "subsidy to rich a-hole who doesn't need it" would be more accurate than "loan".

Parson is a tremendous piece of shiat who is only in office because the guy before him was an even more tremendous piece of shiat. Him acting like a piece of shiat isn't exactly a surprise. If it were up to him, every medicaid patient in Missouri would just FOAD, as a start. This is zero percent surprising.

Zero's not a percent its a lack of percents

As a resident of Missouri, I'd like to say.. dammit. Not a surprise though.

But it is a specific lack of percents. It's not that the field was left blank, it's that there is actively nothing.

I'm wearing my face mask tonight, for the first time in about a month, after St. Louis County recommended today that even vaccinated people start wearing masks indoors around strangers, just to slow the spread of Delta variant.

Welcome to the rest of us. It'd be nice not to have to do this, but we have to because freedom means ditching responsibility during a pandemic. Sigh's all the way around.

Yeah. I just spent several years having a lot more to do with that place than I ever thought I would. The only parts I liked were a couple of float trips, a handful of beers, about five restaurant meals, and it being over.

It's a beautiful place and I met a few really cool people, but on the whole it wasn't really my kind of culture and the government is riddled with ultra corrupt morons. One of the clowns wanting to replace Senator Blunt (not a great guy but very active) is a do-nothing part time auctioneer who barely has a high school education ffs. And he actually might win. And then there's Hawley. And that's the high profile national stuff. What a mess.

Which isn't even taking into account the Lambda variant. MO is about to have a really rough time.

What a mess is pretty much MO politics. Missouri is two spots which is either one end or the other of I-70 and everything in between.

I'm guessing if the County Executive tries to shut down again, Parson will send the State Police to arrest him.. or just shoot him.

Except, as far as I can tell, that Parsons never opposed the original pandemic relief, only the new extensions being pushed by Democrats as the pandemic winds down.

This looks like another typical 2+2=5 argument fed to the media by Democrats without much thought.

Pandemic relief made sense during the worst part of the pandemic, but now it's going to be a costly way to enhance political support for Democrats with other peoples' money, while jacking up our public debt and inflation.

All the big states with highest unemployment now are big blue states like California, Illinois, New York, New Jersey, run by Democrats who love forever-checks from government:

It's only socialism when the poors get something.  Like SNAP benefits - it's downright communism to feed poors, but it's ok to give grants to farmers in the same bill because they're people of the land, common clay of the new west.

It's the pandemic winding down?  It certainly doesn't look like it.  In fact, it looks like the pandemic is exploding because Republicans just will not do their part, as usual.

For a group that likes to consider themselves they most patriotic patriots to ever hug a flag, Republicans just won't lift a finger to help anyone but themselves.  And when they do they, it's usually just a matter of them helping themselves to something that does not belong to them.

They are loans, and you agree to pay it back if you get one. If you meet certain conditions in a certain timeframe, the loan will be forgiven. Meeting those conditions are trivial (if you aren't out to commit fraud), but that doesn't make it not a loan.

Not only 'the poors', but only the brown ones.  re-publicans love giving free money and stuff to the white poors. Just not the brown ones.

No they don't. What universe do you live in?

They love giving free money and stuff to the rich, period. They're always against giving money to the poor, and in favor of "tax relief" i.e. money to the rich.

My point is that re-publican states and districts are the main consumers of welfare and 'free stuff'.  That 'free stuff' is magically maintained, while the 'free stuff' for the brown-colored poors is cut and slashed and demonized.

Absolutely almost all of their efforts are centered around giving free stuff to the rich people...It's just that they distinguish the value of people by their skin color and religious affiliation above and beyond all other factors.

You haven't been to rural America then.

See, when they get subsidies and other government assistance programs, they aren't called "handouts". That's only when the government gives the same thing to those people in the cities.

Yeah pretty much all has been said.

However.

Democrats have not fielded good candidates in a while. Last go round for senate, McCaskill came off exactly like how democrats are painted by republicans and he got her ass handed to her. She was never a great candidate.

Koster should not have run for governor. Too much baggage, too much flip flopping. And FFS...he couldn't beat Greitens?

St. Louis has nothing to offer. Our mayor is new and less than inspiring. Our city prosecutor is an incompetent idiot. County executive is ok, but he is not exactly charismatic. There is no bench to go to.

So Republicans keep putting up radical idiots, and democrats never counter.

Not a career politician, navy seal, guns, explosions and patriot. What more could you want?

/We might get a chance to see him again going up for Blunt's seat next year
//I expect to see more guns, explosions and freedom fighting
///and some file footage of him handing out PPE to first responders in 2020 for good measure.
