There are a few youtube videos where an officer pulls over a car suspected of DUI and it turns out its another officer, usually one with higher rank...

and the officer says...

"Sorry, my camera is on, you know I have to take you in right?"

The first time I took ecstasy I woke up with the nose of my car at a 45° angle on a utility pole.

Never can tell if serious.  Like when after the job interview, and a long drive back to Austin, I was offered a can of beer.  These particular cops specialized in statewide safety public service announcements for youngsters.

Absolute power does not corrupt.  Absolute power reveals corrupt character.

I find it comical that people believe the United States Government™ is capable of properly vetting immigrants and/or asylum seeking refugees fleeing totalitarian regimes when there is apparently no system in place within that self-same government, to say nothing of corporate America at large, to identify and block assholes, douchebags, and shiat weasels from positions of power and authority in their chosen profession.

I absolutely hated techno and trance music until I took ecstasy, then I suddenly understood the appeal. It's a very active drug, in that the more active you are, the better it "works", so dance music (or anything with heavy, steady bass and lots of "motion") is a natural fit. fark around enough and find a song whose beat lines up with your biorhythm and it's transcendent.

When I moved to New Mexico, I was told by someone to always have a half-rack in the car.  That way if I got pulled over by the cops, I could share a couple with them.

I thought it was a joke until I started seeing LEOs getting busted for DUI while on duty.

/hehe I said doody

I was once passed out at an intersection, woken up by a cop knocking on my car window. Wound up with 3 nights in jail, a DWI, and about a year's worth of probation. But then, I'm not a cop.

/stopped driving while drunk, and cut down very heavily on my overall drinking afterwards

2021-07-21 5:34:08 PM
This happened with a police detective in Aurora, CO not long ago. While on duty and in uniform, he drove home, drank a bottle of vodka, and then drove somewhere else. He was found passed out and unresponsive at an intersection with the car running. Why yes, he still works there. Why would a cop lose his job over something so trivial?

Yup.  Same basic thing happened with the police chief in my city in 2010:

https://www.pe.com/2010/03/23/riverside-police-chief-faces-dui-counts-in-car-wreck/

The cops let him go with charging him, despite him being so drunk (he had 11 drinks at the local strip club plus took five prescription medicines) that he didn't know where he was or that he had wrecked his city-issued car and was driving on it's rims.

I used to work with a narcoleptic.  I walked into his lab a few times and found him standing there sound asleep like a freakin' horse on 2 legs.  I didn't even know that was an option before I met him.

Happened to my father in law decades ago after a quick turn around and double shift. Fell asleep at a light with a foot on the brake and one on the clutch. It was around midnight. They let him go.

Yeah.  Saw an enclosed trailer down by the Jersey Shore about a month ago festooned with all sorts of fash stickers.  There was the thin blue line flag, the "blue lives matter" stickers, and a new one.

"Brothers before all others"

Think about that one for a minute.

Oh my college roommate for a few months... this was before I met him... he got a cab ride home from the bar, totally sniatfaced, and decided to get in his truck and go to another bar.
Well he crashed his truck over a hill, then fled the scene.

His brother, the cop, when he saw the vehicle he knew whose it was, and made a guess as to where hos brother had ran (a friend's house a few blocks away). His brother made the arrest. I think he was twice the legal limit or some such.

Well, Mr Drunkie and his family found a lawyer. They used some loophole to negotiate/plea to some reckless driving charge (no DUI... that time...), no fleeing the scene, etc... So a 6 month license suspension and a small fine was it. All because his brother was the arresting officer. Given his history he'd have probably spent some jail time and lost his license for years had anyone else picked him up.

Yeah, the guy I knew used to fall asleep at stop lights and railroad crossings.  It's a hell of an affliction.

Doesn't matter what we think. The cops only see two categories: fellow cop and unpunished criminal.

Wondering how long it is until C12 shows up and copsplains how this isn't bad, we're blowing it out of proportion, and we hate cops because hahahareasons.

Yeah. Cop near me ran down a civilian pedestrian in a crosswalk a couple of days ago, then denied her medical care by chasing off first responders. But it's a "civil matter" so there will be no investigation.

If I as much as scratched an Officer's paint job making a turn, they'd put me on the ground and beat the fark out of me. The charge me with attempted murder for bleeding on their shoes.

I once was so tired while in a marathon road trip that I pulled into a state park parking lot and fell asleep in the middle of the lot in neutral with the engine running. They woke me up, determined that I was a sober yet idiotic college student, and I parked the car and slept for several hours.

^^^ That was the point I was going for. I've never had a run-in with a NYSP officer who I didn't personally know that didn't treat me like I was a criminal and they just hadn't figured out what to pin on me yet.
