Not even the least bit surprised; happy she's leaving that pile of crap and probably getting a fat contract with NBC.

Good for her. She's smart, beautiful, and talented. ESPN is toxic for women.

TNT?

Isn't she the sportscaster that Rachel Nichols was biatching about?

This Pitaro clown is screwing up the whole works. Losing LeBatard was a career-ender, and his time must be ticking. ESPN has been f*cking chaos since he took over for Skipper.

Good for her. It's a toxic environment.

Yep. Everyone framed it as racist, but I think it was a lot more "younger, taller, way hotter, AND better at the job". Could be both no doubt.

And the only people actually punished by ESPN were black employees upset about it.

//which ship will go down first, ESPN or MTV?  Both were juggernauts in the 80's and 90's.

No. Nichols was letting lose on the asshole in charge. She doesn't have a problem with the young lady that was being used by the head asshole.

It's the asshole in charge that's the asshole here. Not the two ladies.

TBF Stephen A wasn't punished for going 2 for 2 on xenophobic bullshiat on the same show.

Err both examples were on the same show. Not the NBA thing which created all this drama.

Talented? She's a sideline reporter. The games could go on without ALL of the sideline reporters and nobody would even notice. It's always felt out of place when they do those moments during a game.

They should've retired sideline reporters in fond memory of Craig Sager. His were pretty good when it was A) Poppovich or B) somebody made fun of his suit.

Wait, 2? I know of him saying ohtani is ruining the game because he uses a translator, what was the other thing he shat out of his mouth?

/Then spent 30 seconds "apologizing" for it while saying "I'm black so I get it"

Rumors were she was asking for close to Stephen A money.  ESPN can't afford to spend a fraction of that on decent writers, why would they spend more on someone just as replacable?

Oh ffs.

But in reality he wasn't, that's just the angle that people who hate him take.

I get the history of "I can't even pronounce these people's names" definitely comes from a pretty xenophobic place...but it also is more often a non-swearing way to say "I've never even heard of these MFers" which was the general point.

/similarly, the Ohtani point was made about as stupidly as possible...but yes, having your biggest star not speak English in America, land of only understanding one language...it's not ideal for your sport.
//Of course, after years of the sport's best player speaking English well but having the personality of a wet noodle, it's still an upgrade
///Can't go to HURTING the game or sounding like you're blaming Ohtani for it, though
//I'm pretty forgiving for people that have to spend hours upon hours per day, every day, giving takes publicly and live on-air intended to rile people up without accidentally saying something offensive or phrasing something poorly
