From the article:

"The study found that these gasoline superusers typically use more than 1,000 gallons of gas annually, drive larger vehicles, and drive three times as many miles as the average driver."

I doubt I use much over 100 gallons of gas a year.

And in 2020, I think I went about 6 months without filling up at all. But I guess that's an exception...

It's sex with rules attached.

I'm probably at 1500 gallons/yr or so, 80% of that work related - so about 300 gallons for personal use.

I could easily cut into that 300 number, but I like aimless drives when I'm not working.

I thought that he was in trouble for fighting and ganging up on some people.  Maybe five on two.

I did this crazy thing and rtfa.

He was the blackmailer, not the blackmailed.

Post was one of three teachers at the high school charged in spring with crimes in an alleged scheme to influence a tenure vote.

[...]

Criminal charges remain pending against the three, with new dates being scheduled for pre-indictment conferences, according to the New Jersey Superior Court vicinage that covers Warren County.

[...]

The threat involved exposing embarrassing information unless a school district employee acted on their demands to influence a tenure vote, authorities have said. Investigators have not identified the employee.

Turbo Cojones: Tenure for a HS teacher?  No.wonder they are broke.

In the school system I work for everyone is entitled to tenure after 2 years IF the board chooses to keep you on as an employee. Custodians lunch ladies teachers bus drivers bus nechanics maintenance etc. All have tenure. All the tenure guarantees is that if someone decides their nephew needs a job they can not shiatcan a employee without due cause to make room. Theyll pull several employess from several different school systems within the home district. Have a evidentiary hearing. The board has to show that you in fact broke a rule or policy that calls for termination. Or that you are under performing etc and have been consulted and counselled about it 3 times. Then they will hold and anonymous vote on whether to terminate or retain. And youd think theyd cover for each other. But Ive been on this board in a hearing 3 times and surprisingly each time the employee was terminated. Fired by their peers more or less. It just makes it to where people will not come forward wanting to fire someone unless they have a really valid reason. It should be this way at every job in a perfect world

Nice, your school system has adopted the New Zealand Employment Relations Act 2000. That's just everyday life for employees here.

My HS made us pick a new gym activity every 3 wks. Couldn't repeat same activity for 2 3-wk periods. As a gay youth, I was seriously afraid of outing myself with a not unoticble erection after grappling some hot dude, so I somehow managed to avoid wrestling for 4 yrs. Thank God.

New Jersey has had this for decades. Yes, it is why they're broke.
