This is a shame. The Potato Pancake is part of the reason to go to Arbys. Nobody is going to do fries like Mcdonalds but Mcdonalds has copied Arbys Potato Pancake for Breakfast. How many times has Wendy's revamped their fries and none of them have come close to their original. French Fries help define a Fast Food Restaurant and their differences are what makes them what they are.

There is nothing else like the potato cake. It must not pass from human experience. Sign the petition you must.

In case TFA is flaky for anyone else:
https://www.change.org/p/arbys-corporate-arby-s-bring-back-potato-cakes

I have been ordering potato cakes every time I go to Arby's - it's been the main reason. That's not a lot, but I was bummed to hear about the change.

They were convenient on a recent road trip, and I have to admit, the curly fries are pretty damn good too.

Yep, it is my adblocker. Something in this list is the issue.

I really like them. I'll probably be spending more money at Arby's than I otherwise would have because of their crinkle fries.

And yes, you have to do the unacceptable amount of work such as turning on the oven, putting them on a pan, putting the oven in the pan for a short while, and then taking the pan out of the oven again

Oh the farking horror

Yeah, I always got the potato cakes when eating at Arbys. Then I discovered Lion's Choice and I regret all of the sliced wet hotdog that they call 'roast beef' that I had eaten at Arbys.

They add a seasoning salt when the take the meat from the slicer to the bun. Ask them to use none/less. If you like the stuff (like my wife and son) you can buy some for your spice rack at home. Also, if you prefer more rare or even well done (gag!) you can ask for it.

There's no point. The only two reasons left to go to an Arby's were the potato cakes and horsey sauce, and only if they were together. It's not like I can't get "bovine discharge onna bun" from just about anywhere else.

And that's fine. They're basically updating their offerings to get rid of their old customers & bring in new customers. If it works for them, more power to them, I guess. I'm apparently just one of the old customers.

I've no need to sign a petition or hoist a placard or, really, even air a grievance. They just won't get any more money from me. If they've got someone else waiting in the wings to replace me, why would they care about my whining?

The potato cakes weren't anything special but the curly fries suck noodles.  They should have replaced the curly fries with the crinkle cut they introduced, and left the potato cakes alone.

It's not the same as the full deep fryer experience.

I will miss them.   😢

Getting rid of potato cakes? Wuhhhh? Might as well get rid of the roast beef. I stopped eating fast food a long time ago. But my guilty pleasure used to be an Arby's french dip sandwich and those potato cakes. Drench the potato cake in that worthless au jus...... man, that was great.

And i am very disappointed that none of you asked how you fit an oven inside of a pan

I don't know about you, but that does seem to be an unreasonable amount of work to me for very little payout, aside from the heavy lifting.
