Carl Winslow was THE sitcom dad back in the day. Blew Danny Tanner out of the water.

I'm pretty sure Carl Winslow threatened Urkel a few times.

Use of deadly force is appropriate depending on situations. This would be one of them.

I'm pretty sure "Get back in the Izetta and get the fark out of here, Urkel!" would have solved like, 80% of Family Matters plotlines.

Fun fact: This scene actually happened (although obviously not to this coke-fueled intensity) but it wasn't Reginald VelJohnson. One of the actresses complained to the executives that Urkel basically took over the show. She eventually quit.

It was a ray gun, looked real enough.

Sgt. Al Powell, (Diehard) had to change his name to Charles Winslow and go into hiding because Hanz's brother, Simon (Jeremy Irons, Die Hard with a Vengeance) was on the loose as an international terrorist.

His story was picked back up in the TV show, Family Matters. Where he had to, once again, deal with a dangerous villain. This time, it was the mad scientist, Steve Urkel. Across 9 seasons, Al Powell/ Charles Winslow kept that madman in check while providing for his family and dispensing sage advice.

He truly is an American hero.

Don't forget he got his start as an NYPD municipal corrections officer. He had to deal with some crazy dudes who claimed they were seeing ghosts. They had to relocate him after that incident. No one likes to talk about it.

He was also a one-time police investigator in Cypress Beach, California (again, under an assumed name). He had to deal with a particularly nasty case involving his predecessor and a bull mastif. That was about it for him..... he booked it for Chicago after that point.

A silly thought. The police are not allowed to take bribes. An autograph from a celebrity is worth money. For instance, Mike Tyson got in trouble in prison for giving autographs to other prisoners. That means a celebrity can't sign that ticket. That is giving an autograph :)
Checkmate, police!
