Yeah. That will stop the next run.

If Chong could have proved the bongs were gong to be used as weapons in an insurrection, he might have got a lighter sentence.

They were, but it's been taking decades to come to fruition.

Well I guess that means the next time we get a fascist as president we can try to overthrow the government and not have a whole lot tow worry about.

Like, wow, man. I just retweeted that like 10 minutes ago. Far out.

Go for it. Then you'll learn what a double-standard is, and who gets the benefit from them.

I know a certain Fark™ Cannabaveat who was a major Trump supporter who only stopped supporting him due to him saying that he was thinking of decriminalizing pot after a conversation with Matt Gaetz that is thrilled Chong got 9 months while the Alex Jones/Kayleigh McEnany/Melissa Carone of Pot Propaganda fellow domestic terrorists get a slap on the wrist

that's justice in this country folks (or a lack there of if you're sane)

Successfully incite an insurrection, resulting in multiple deaths, many police injuries, and nearly resulting in physical assaults on members of Congress (if the police hadn't shot and killed the first insurrectionist to come through the smashed windows leading to the House floor), well for doing that you get no consequences at all.

2021-07-20 1:39:19 PM
Yep, that's how it works when the penalty for paraphernalia is a year and the penalty for trespass is a year.

Sorry if after all this time you still don't get that part.

I hope the sentences for stealing the election are longer.

We'll find out after they've been emboldened even further by this relative lack of punishment.

it is much longer, the punishment is having to listen to wacky conspiracy theories about election being stolen for 18 years to life.

So this is the lowest right? The higher up in organizing and/or violence, the longer these are gonna get right? Riiiiiiiight?

I agree. Trump and every one of your domestic terrorists conservative pals who attempted to steal the election on January 6th deserve nothing but a lifetime at Gitmo

No.

Selfie seditionist??? Omg. I had to turn it off. That's gonna become a thing, while the centrist Dems will keep glaring at Defund the Police instead of aligning themselves as allies.

I'm gonna cry.

Didn't they mention he wasn't accused of participating in any of the violence?  Does 8 months seem light or pretty harsh in that situation?

If you planned out angles of attack with others, brought weapons, and used violent force against the police it would seem way too light (I think we'll see a few big sentences before it is over), but if If this guy was there to protest the election certification and followed a crowd into a building to take some selfies, 8 months seems pretty harsh whatever thought process for being there. As a comparison, the people who disrupted and delayed the Kavanaugh confirmation hearings, also an official proceeding, mostly received $35.00 tickets.

BlueMAGA assured me that we were serious about prosecuting the insurrectionists.

It's no surprise that Paul Hodgkins only got eight months, compared to Tommy Chong. His defense for being at the Capitol was, "Paul's not here."

You won't get any jail time.

They'll just take you out back and shoot you.

2021-07-20 1:49:48 PM
They really aren't taking this shiat too seriously, are they?

Let me guess.  We have standards as a nation, and don't just jail or execute people like Pol Pot.

LOL "trespass"
I guess all the pages on sedition must have been torn out of DC prosecutors' statute books. Their hands are tied!

*** knock on White House front door ***

Biden: "Who is it?"
Trump: "It's your favorite President (me!). Donald Trump. I won the election. You know that it was stolen from me. I am calling on you to do the right thing and step down. I'll consider pardoning you for your crimes."

*** no reponse ***

*** louder knock on door ***

Biden: "Who is it?"
Trump: "You heard me the first time. It is Donald Trump. The winner of the 2020 election. Come on out. You know you are in there fradulently. Once again, the people elected me."
Biden: "What?"
Trump: "The people elected me! Donald Trump!"
Biden: "Donald Trump?"
Trump: "Yes. Donald Trump! The winner of the 2020 election and the rightful President of the United States. I demand that you let me in."
Biden: "Trump's not here, man."

Are you even remotely capable of participating in a discussion without hauling out some ancient "what about" to try and make your tiny little point?

The Kavanaugh protestors were easily dealt with and didn't grab flag poles and start beating cops. They also didn't cheer on anyone else who was doing that; because nobody was doing that.

These "protestors" you're so fond of protecting had no business going into that building and the excuse that they simply "followed other people" into the building is some really dumb shiat. It was an insurrection and the courts are taking it seriously. End of story.

9 months for selling a bong in an obvious sting operation, no less.

Priorities.

From what I heard he pled GUILTY and he was there for like 30 minutes.  8 months seems long for that.

But I am sure there are some very angry and breathless Farkers that want to see him beheaded in the public square.

You know, because they're lunatics who are every bit as dumb and hyperbolic as the "political opponents" they pretend to be better than.

Appropriate sentence, if he didn't commit violence:

Prison, 5 years
Permanently on the no-fly list
Loss of all military benefits
Loss of all federal security clearances
Permanent inability to work on any federal contracts

Hey, it's not my fault you wanted to play terrorist.

I'm sure they will be.

How could those nefarious democrats ever hope to get away with something so insidious when they left so much easily accessible proof and evidence of their double dealings that even your average run of the mill crackhead pillow salesman could piece it all together?
