Do as we say, not as we do... ignore that COVID tester behind the curtain!

It's self reporting, not proof.  Most of my clients are doing something similar.  Self-report with frequent testing and mandatory mask use.if you decline to state or are not vaccinated.

FoxNews makes their money by getting their audience addicted to confirmation bias--mirroring what they already believe back to them makes them feel better about themselves, a shot of endorphins.

It's not a news channel.

Pushing stupidity is profitable, but that shiat isn't too be consumed on company property.

Since Fox and Friends ended this morning, Fox has been whistling a slightly different tune. Seems like their lawyers have been in charge of all their programming since noon today.

The only right wingers who believe in right wing lies are the one at the bottom, the one at the top fully know when they lie in order to increase or maintain their power, profits and popularity.

Many on the left are like that but they're not on the left because they like the ideology, they're on the left because that's what sell where they are. *cough*Joe Manchin*cough*

About time they got called out for pushing one thing, yet quietly doing the opposite thing than what they're saying.  But I've been seeing one of their morning guys trending on Twitter.  What happened?

Now, if all three members of their primetime lineup suddenly say, "GO GET THE DAMN VACCINE, IT'S SAFE!," what happens?

Fox News is headquartered in New York, where TV network writers, producers, directors, and technical crew are almost entirely union jobs.

They weren't going to be able to start bringing people back into the newsroom, control room, and studios without having people vaccinated, lest they risk a potential work stoppage because of unsafe conditions.

Ship isn't going to turn that easily. Fox's audience has internalized COVID as hoax/not a big deal/blue state disease/minority disease. Doubt it will do much to cover their liability for any wrongful death suits that are coming for them either. If their primetime opinion anchors are not spouting vaccine disinformation themselves tonight, it will be the GOP talking heads they have on as guests doing it for them.

Fox and the GOP do this because they know what their constituency wants. They want their fear, ignorance, and hatred to be justified, even if it ends up killing them.

Vaccine passports are government-mandated, and anyone who wishes to travel must have one.

Proofs of vaccination are regulations from private businesses, and anyone who doesn't want to provide it has the freedom to see employment elsewhere.

This is the thin end of the wedge. Oh it's thicker in other places, and there are other wedges. But this idea that is part and parcel of their package of ideas, is the thin end of the wedge that ends in a holocaust.

That may sound like hyperbole, but once you allow for this kind of doublethink, and it's always been there with the abortion issue and others, plenty of wealthy white GOP daughters and girlfriends (or victims) got abortions while daddy railed against it on t.v., once you allow this divide between how you act and what is politically correct, you're on that path.

And let's just dispense with the b.s. that the right doesn't engage in political correctness, you're looking at it here. And it looks like a small thing doesn't it.

But this path leads to the death chambers.

In Judgement at Nuremberg Former Nazi Judge Janning says he didn't think his small actions as a judge would lead to the murder of millions of people.

Ernst Janning: Judge Haywood... the reason I asked you to come: Those people, those millions of people... I never knew it would come to that. You must believe it, you must believe it!Judge Dan Haywood: Herr Janning, it "came to that" the first time you sentenced a man to death you knew to be innocent.Thin end of the wedge.

I think we've reached the point where the right-wingers who have been railing against vaccination and other precautionary measures are trying to figure out how to backtrack without it being obvious that they're backtracking. There's no denying that a lot of unvaccinated folks are going to get sick, and when they see that people around them who are vaccinated are not getting sick, maybe they will figure out that someone gave them bad advice.

FoxNews is well-known for putting things reasonable people say in their "news" shows that no one watches and then they say "See? We aired it." But their opinion/entertainment shows which get all the ratings are manufactured extremism.

How can Fox News even pay the primetime salaries now that the rest of Fox is owned by Disney and not subsidizing them anymore?  Tucker won't encourage vaccination no matter what.  He thinks he's a short-list candidate for the new Joseph Goebbels.  It was such a genius plan for Goebbels, who ended up killing his whole family then himself.  Somebody should clue Tucker in about that.

probably this:

Doocy: 99% of people who are dying are unvaccinated
Kilmeade: That's their choice!
Doocy: They don't want to die. The admin and gov't says mask mandates are to protect the unvaccinated
Kilmeade: That's not their job, it's not their job to protect anybody!

Exactly. Ads are just the gravy for Fox News. The bulk of their cashflow come from being able to demand kickbacks from cable and satellite providers for each subscriber who has it on the dial whether they watch it or not. It turns out having a sufficiently large and fanatical audience who would certainly change providers to get Fox News comes in handy when negotiating these kickbacks.

Regulation mandating ala carte pay television would be the kick to the News Corp. family jewels it deserves. Unfortunately, there are plenty of other industry stakeholders who will lobby aggressively to try to stop ala carte pay television from happening.

Several years ago I worked as a vendor for News Corp. I went into their offices at 1211 6th Avenue and noticed a similar thing was happening with climate change -- there were signs all over the place about how the company was adapting and reducing its carbon footprint (I recall a "cool change" slogan) even while their on-air personalities were denying the existence of a problem.
