I don't think I'm being racist but maybe it's subconcious or something... still I looked at that picture for a few seconds while I thought "He looks like a Black girl"... a few seconds more and I was like "He looks like Candace Owens, in fact"... a few seconds later I was like "OH! On the flute!"

And Im usually pretty good at "Where's Waldo"

Ben Garrison?  *clicks link*

Meh.  Same thing.

That's supposed to be D'Souza on the fife?

Mad Scientist: That's supposed to be D'Souza on the fife?

There's also a dead Joe Biden.

Is it just me, or does she still have the "I'm wishing you to the cornfield," look that she gave Ted Lieu?

These people are real and they walk among us.

I didn't know that Michael Jackson played the drums.

Except the people depicted in the painting are traitors.

TBH, I feel like McNaughton is just phoning it in these days. His velvet Elvis paintings used to be brightly-colored visualizations of rich, psychotic screeds (that you could still read by mousing over the evil Working Woman Lawyer or Atheist Professor to discover just how they're turning their backs on 'Murica and Jesus, or how Obama is going to nuke the world by being a weak totalitarian or something.)

For the last two years or so, though, he's just been doing half-assed visualizations of "Trump doing <manly thing,>" and it's farking dull.

Jon, I am dissapoint.

trump would probably take a look at that and say "Why did they paint the help?"

I'm ok with this painting.

I mean, yeesh, let him work through his feelings with art.

It's the only way they know how to acknowledge them. They aren't grown ups in any sense of the word.

On one level you have to admire the meta of an "artist" grifting right-wingers by painting terrible depictions of famous right-wing grifters.

He's not dead, he's holding what I think is supposed to be a mask but looks more like a skate's egg case.

So, I'm not familiar with the original - these guys don't appear to be marching.
They appear to be posing in a wide stance.

Also, we live in the age of deep fakes.  We don't need finger painted fantasy.

The people in the original were traitors to the British Crown.  But this us where we are; the MAGATs feel they're being unjustly governed (by being governed at all).

The only way to make Trump look manly/cool is to put him in completely fake situations, doing things he has never and would never do.

Dang.  Everyone is getting in on the art grift.

Subby, you should capitalize all parts of a proper noun.

Let's not be unnecessarily disrespectful to the piece of filth that is Convicted Felon Dinesh D'Souza.

Dinesh D'postrophe depicted with a traumatic head-wound, and Uncle Candace banging the trump drum.

Where's the lie?

ArkPanda: Mad Scientist: That's supposed to be D'Souza on the fife?

I like how Joe Biden is dead and clutching a mask in a painting called the "Spirit of 2024". Because the American Revolution took place during of the largest smallpox epidemics in North American history that would eventually kill over 100,000 people, and because Washington forced inoculations in his army.

So all three of these assholes would be vaccinated and still singing the anti-vax song. It's an unintentionally amazing meta commentary on how everyone in the painting is a farking grifting liar.

Yeah, I went to his website and moused over a few things once, and it was the opposite extreme of Ben Garrison, in that no one would ever be able to figure out what anything was. A bunch of random papers on the ground near a judge were supposed to be very specific SCOTUS rulings, for example.

If I remember correctly, he asserted that the Supreme Court lost its way with Marbury v. Madison, which was a nuanced touch of insanity.

Like I said, it just doesn't seem like his heart is in it anymore.

Where is the light source supposed to be on that soggy sheet?

If I had to describe the painting: A fanciful situation depicted in the style of Soviet Realism.

Going where the money is.  Heck, have it printed on velvet and the cult will be lined up in droves to get one.

Fantasy?  You mean Trump does NOT have that manly physique and is missing his chin jowls?

Well if Trump had stayed in power we probably would have regressed to colonial times, so it's accurate at least

2021-07-19 12:33:44 PM
It's nice to know that Convicted Felon Dinesh D'Souza has been relegated to Social Media Influence for the likes of McNaughton.

It would be NICER to know that he was permanently surrounded by jeering laughter of better men than himself, but I guess they all have better shiat to do with their time.

2021-07-19 12:34:11 PM
To be fair, Convicted Felon Dinesh D'Souza didn't say he likes it.  He's honored to be considered sufficiently MAGAty to make it into the painting, and amused to be added.  I think even he realizes that from an art perspective, this is a travesty.

"Contemporary interpretation"? Or an attempt at revisionist history?

"You see, minorities were treated as equals back then, here you can see them marching side by side with a white man on the way to the Lexington airport!"

Well, the work does make clear that Dinesh has suffered a serious head injury. Until now, that was only implicit.

I don't imagine that the former guy would be using a traditional grip, even when flailing away on a side drum. He's not willing to be taught things.

Also his head looks tiny in this painting.
