Never heard of Faces.  Seriously, does Rod know that the majority of his remaining fans can't leave their assisted living / nursing homes to see this reunion tour?
/Not even sarcasm

I'll stick with the Black Crowes.  Basically the same band but not as decrepit (though not for lack of trying)

When Steve Marriott left the Small Faces (to form Humble Pie), the rest of the band joined up with Ron Wood and Rod Stewart from the Jeff Beck Group. I'm very interested in hearing this new music.

I saw Jeff Beck live just before covid hit.
Never heard of Faces, it sounded like a short lived 70s band.  Since they broke up so long ago, they didn't build new generations of fans like the Rolling Stones.   I guess individually the members went on to do great work so maybe in combo now it would be good?

The phrase "rock'n'roll projects" is awesome.

Look, Rod Stewart seems like an okay guy. He's obviously adjusted his singing style to accommodate his aging voice. But Faces were such a raucous band, and Rod's singing was so raw, I just can't imagine a new Faces record being up to par. And if they're considering a reunion tour, I can only imagine how he's going to handle singing the old songs live night after night.

I think it'll be good. The possible list of session musicians is phenomenal.

(Not So) Fun Fact: Jeff Beck broke up that lineup of his band the night before the original Woodstock... where they were scheduled to play. Yes, he definitely regretted that later.

There are a great number of bands that declined Woodstock, but they are the only group to break up to do so.

I was only 13 when Woodstock happened, but I have a friend 4 years older than me who tried to go. He started hitchhiking right outside of Pittsburgh, and got picked up by a guy who was also going there. Long story short, 5 hours later they realized they were going south instead of north and threw in the towel because they'd already waited until the last minute to decide to go. He'll never live that down.

Love Faces, honestly one of the best bands that ever was, but definitely more apprehensive than excited about a reunion.

He's basically going to sing Stay With Me at about 70% and then do stuff that Ronnie sang originally.  Maybe a song like this but since Ian's gone not sure they can find people with the same touch.

Is he still just a pure instrumental guy these days?  I saw his co-tour with Brian Wilson... 6 or so years ago... I did not expect that Jeff beck would do nothing but guitar instrumentals the entire time.  It was... ok... and he's very talented, but not what I expected from that concert.

/Also, subby, the faces last album was Ooh la la in 1973.  That's almost 50 years ago.

I'm torn on whether I like Faces or Small Faces more.   Either way, half the founders are gone, so what's the point?

/I always wanted to ask Vinnie Colaiuta if Beck really has more fluids than Zappa did.   Pretty cool that the best drummer around played for two of the best guitar slingers ever.
//His big selling point is Tal.   She's got the dirty old man crowd coming to the shows.

Has someone said "new Faces music" fails without Ronnie Lane? Because new Faces music fails without Ronnie Lane.
