What is anything you need to be canceled you shouldn't have been having things in the first place you decided to have a thing why cancel it now it's not like you actually cared about killing people

You know you could just abandon your kids
sure they'll incur child support but you eventually pay that off so it's no big deal and trust me child support is a pretty good trade-off from having to deal with children because children are just terrible crapheads

The scout camp outbreak was three kids. That's enough for them to shut down the camp - seems like they are being reasonable prudent while also trying to provide a valuable experience to kids. And these social interaction matterfor children's development.

Childhood is shortand there is a lot of development going on. It's a big farking deal to spend over 1.5 years of it at home in isolation - we're talking needing to spend time in mental hospitals for the damage in some cases. With the vanishingly low death and complication rate for kids under 12 from covid (so far - we're watching every variant closely to see if this changes and it might), overkill may hurt more kids than covid. And by now, if grandma and grandpa aren't vaccinated, it's probably their own damn boomer fault.

In my area in WA, we have a high rate of vaccination. Schools reopened in April and numbers didn't spike, it wasn't a problem. Vaccines (all the teachers had the opportunity to vaccinate) work.

From age 4 to age 15 I was alone 14 hours a day every day.
Wanking motion.
🙄
Whole thing only thing bad that happened was I decided to get married at 14 because I was tired of being alone and I was already settled with adult responsibilities
😐

Clearly I'm not saying what happened to me should happen to anyone but the kids will be fine

Just for comparison, the Texas Democrat outbreak has climbed to five Democrats now.

Take out the trustworthy, helpful, thrifty, and brave, and they might as well be Democrats then...

Five Texas House Democrats who traveled to Washington, D.C., have tested positive for coronavirus

Sounds like they need work on the "clean" and "courteous" parts, but then, show me a boy scout who doesn't?

Subby here.

For the record, I did not submit this with a Yahoo link.
It was "NC Observer" or something like that. Fark had a logo for it.

I question if it was enough to shutdown the camp.  They probably have 750 -1000 folks there.  Quarantine or send that unit home.  Get some rapid testing and move on

If the threshold is 100% chance of NO Covid then we might as well lockdown forever

If it's anything like the summer camps I went to as a kid, the only way that you'd accomplish anything meaningful is to quarantine the troop that had the positive cases, which makes having a summer camp essentially impossible.

You'd lose most your outdoor activities, and anything with other troops, including meals in the dining hall. You'd routinely have 500-1000 in the dining hall at once at the Scout camp we went to back then.

At that point, just send the problem troop home. Add something into the physical requirements alongside the usual vaccination and exam to say the Scout has to have a negative COVID test within a certain time frame before attending.
