In the wake of a hurricane, nobody goes out and walks through the water with a tub of Stella.

They cost more than Coors, and really it's all the same thing.

Stella takes a few hours to taste skunked.  Heineken comes pre-skunked for you.

Pretty much this. Fresh Stella is not bad, but it's a total crap shoot as far as it being skunked. Heineken is always skunked. Try Stella in the cans.

In my MBA's marketing classes, we studied the Stella Artois brand.

Basically, it was doing everything to make it seem like a beer for snobby, rich people. From the label to the shape of the bottle to charging a higher price to making bartenders pour it into a special glass rimmed with "gold" to originally serving it only in airplane business classes. (From what I recall.)

And it doesn't even taste that good.

There part of the pantheon of horrible import beers advertised as premium:
Guinness, Stella, Carlsberg, Corona, Heineken and Fosters.

Yep. I don't know how anyone buys Heineken a second time.

I've had to get beer in places where Heineken is the only "exotic" beer available and the other choices are Bud and Bud Light. Then it is welcome.

If there ain't a stout on the menu just drink water.

Nota bene - Guinness is not a stout. It wishes it could be one but it's not.

Stalla's not bad, goes well with food.
Heineken, like Grolsch, is awful - I think the only reason people drink them is because they're "imported" and thus fancier.

So... no true Irish stout?

I like Heineken. It is about the only beer I can enjoy warm. I find it funny how many deride its 'skunkiness' when at the same time people rave about it in marijuana. Here is the top Google hit for 'skunk bud':

The original Skunk #1 gave rise to several variations that were later harvested in the gardens of Sensi Seeds, Dutch Passion, Flying Dutchmen, Nirvana Seeds, and Royal Queen Seeds. As its name suggests, Skunk #1 buds radiate with an aromatic blend of sour skunkiness and subtle earthy notes.

Heineken is what I have when they don't have Stella.
Neither are great, but they are the McD of the beer world... you know what you are going to get, and it is acceptable in a pinch.

I would rather drink bud light than either Stella or Heineken, both are absolute garbage.

I had Heineken on tap at the brewery tour in Amsterdam, and it was still skunked.

That's when I decided that's just the flavor profile they're going for and it really doesn't matter if it's in a green glass bottle or not.

Point taken (I kinda like Rolling Rock), but I tend to drink it in cans.
