Even as teenagers my friends and I wouldn't touch Boone's Farm. That was what homeless people drank. We'd spring extra for Jack.

I never tried Boone's Farms.  Annie GreenSprings wouldn't let me.

I couldn't afford Boone's Farm in college. Mostly I drank at the campus bar where Happy Hour was ten cents for a (13-oz) pint of Genny (Creme Ale).

Yes, I'm very old.

CSB: the popular girls at my high school called themselves the "country cocktails" as if chugging JD sugar syrup was something to aspire to. As far as I know, they all had kids before the age of 22, are at least twice divorced, and now have skin that looks like softball mitt leather that hasn't been sno proofed for decades.

I was the one motorboating the goth chick's titties at the party. Remember? The girl you ridiculed with the jakes you would never have?

Seeing Boones Farm and Annie Green Springs mentioned together has pushed me, kicking and screaming, back to my high school years. Occasionally we had to throw some MD 20/20 into the mix.

Nobody else just dumped a few Flavor-Aid packets into a handle of Popov and passed it around the room until it was gone?

Back in the day, a bottle was around $2. With inflation that would be around $10 today. We don't typically spend much more than that -- around $18/bottle today. So, either Boone Farm wasn't particularly cheap  50 years ago, or wine  making has improved at a preposterous rate.

I was stuck in the Azores for a few days as a Marine. I remember my Sergeant bouncing up and down on his bed with a bottle of boons in his mouth.  This was well over 20 years ago but I remember it like yesterday.
He was a "family man" being the old old age of 22 or 23 and looked down on us "young guys".

We were headed to Italy and in a few days I discovered moscato and had my own fun.

Back in the 70's the Savannah TV stations had ads for "Deuce Juice, a fine wine made with real grapes". For when you wanted to really impress the ladies.

Purple Jesus - Alcool (cheap grain alcohol from Quebec) and Kool-Aid. Usually mixed in a hopefully clean trash can.

Boone's Farm's ABV is closer to a cider, but wine making has improved and grown tremendously.  Competition is rather stiff. Boone's Farm can be had today for $3-4/bottle  That's actually lower per ounce of alcohol than cider.

Way too much Boone's Farm during my college years during my two years at UW-Whitewater and then three years at UW-Madison.

Well, mostly crappy beer but I digress...

With some fresh fruit, if parents were gone and you were sober enough with the knife earlier in the day.

For whatever reason I still do not recall the ladies during my college days absolutely loved that stuff. The strawberry one was an instant hit at the parties. Since I'm not a huge strawberry nor sparkling wine fan I always avoided it.

/ I've puked champagne before, never again -- though it was the prettiest pink fluffy puke I ever did see.

I loved me some Annie Green Springs in the early '70s. I8 was the legal age for drinking in Wisconsin at the time. I downed an entire bottle one night before heading to my overnight job delivering morning newspapers to coin boxes. But I have literally no recollection of what it tasted like. I also drank a lot of Mateus Rose' and Lancer's Rose', both sweet as Kool-Aid. A wine snob I wasn't, obviously.

Unless you still are motorboating big teenage goth boobs, in which case you didn't peak but should have a seat over there.

Damn. I miss those. We had them for a couple of years on the Best Coast. The packaging claimed they were donating to bear conservation, so we did our part. Never did get a bear though.

At a NYE party I watched a girl bottoms up a full bottle of champagne.  The firehose levels of bubbly shooting out of both nostrils and mouth is an image I'll never forget.

Nah, I peaked in college. The motorboating occurred in my 20s. The titties were in their 20s as well.
