The first question should have been "Do you know what the word 'science' means?" Also, science is not an institution.

Luntz is another one. These jackasses create the Frankenstein monster, then act all surprised when it lurches around causing havoc.

In the 60's and 70's the Republicans made a choice to go after the racists and Jesus freaks. These people are inherently dumber than any other group.

It's just gotten so much worse every year since.

It's partly your fault, asshole. You changed GOP's language to brainwash the masses.

You created:

energy exploration -- drilling
death tax -- estate tax
government takeover -- health care reform

I could go on.

In which Luntz is shown the consequences of his actions. Will he recognize that in time to make a change, will he finally Find Out, or will he continue to muddy the waters for personal gain? Find out next time on "LOL Fark You, I Got Mine."

Paul Weyrich courting the Moral Majority under the guise of combatting Roe V Wade, and substantiating religious influence on conservative politics?

Noooo....

I'm sure all the Republicans who distrust "science" also refuse to use all the modern technology science has enabled. Or heaven forfend, might they be as hypocritical about it as they are when they pick and choose which parts of the Bible the follow?

Many years back I sat in on a lecture from a religious leader that spoke about how the bible and other religious texts could be looked at as a guide for living.

Nothing new really except, it wasn't just living a "religious" or "spiritual" life he was talking about.

One of the examples he gave was "...here are people that are wondering the desert and many didn't have the skills to be nomads. Trying to explain to the masses why using the same bowl for milk and later for meat in a hot desert environment might be detrimental to their health isn't a given. So, to cut thru any opposition or people asking why the just said 'God said so'.

Even back then we had people that just wouldn't do what is sanitary or healthy on their own until they found out "God said" and then they fell in line.

Problem is now a days, the church is more concerned with politics than the safety of their own congregation.

In short, the unwashed masses like to prattle on about freedom, but the cold reality is most people are too dumb and or too selfish to be allowed to make their own decisions because they are idiots.

Having watch sitcoms from the 60s and 70s I know the only things need to impress primitive people is a zippo lighter and a transistor radio. Throw in a basic flashlight and you will be a god.

Excerpt, Nationa Geographic September 2023: "... in the Real Tru Trump Patriot tribe all the men carry long sticks polished and dyed black. At first, we thought they were spears but they seem to be for ceremonies only. One young man, age 12 or 13 who had just earned his told us the 'AR makes the libs cry,' it might be for rain. Similarly, the women, some as young as eight or nine, each carry a small L-shaped stick the call glok. It might be a fertility symbol..."

I've seen this in the conversations among my coworkers. Some of us talk about electric vehicles and other innovations that could help us at work, and also chat about developments in space exploration. The other faction talks about demon possession, sin, and fighting the devil's temptations a lot. Guess which group votes Republican.

Yes.

The survey was probably conducted entirely online using Turing machines which are coordinated with time stamps from atomic clocks. They can then use that network to explain why homosexuality is evil and all geology and evolution evidence is false since the universe is only 6000 years old.

Nearly 100% of my College Republican friends from the late 80s are now Democrats. Not "Independents", "Libertarians" or other "Republican but ashamed to admit it" but actual card carrying Democrats working to end the Republican Party. The same is true of nearly every one of my college and high school friends who became officers in the Military, including several service academy graduates.

NO.NO.NO. Jonah Goldberg is full of shiat, no matter what people say. Every article of his is framed that while Trump was bad, there's  greater danger to the republic coming from the left. Same goes for guys like David French, Matt Lewis(nice job giving that POS a Daily Beast column,) and anyone from Commentary Magazine and Luntz too. It's NEVER the rights fault that this post-Trump garbage is happening right now. And no matter how bad it gets, the left will always be more at fault than the right for the state of the country in their minds.

And you look at the list there. It's a bunch of middle aged white guys who used to be able to whisper to lobbyists and members of congress. And now they are on the outside looking in because they are anti-trump. But what they are doing is setting the tone for some expected time when Trumpism is gone for good and they can get back in with the people that made them rich in the past.

Of course they do. It means they don't have to change. Anything that threatens their comforts, ideas, or personal morals cannot be allowed to stand, and the only way to stop it is to impose their ideas upon everybody else.

What they can't and won't accept us that nothing stays the same, which is why the reachback to "the good old days" gets deeper and more desperate with each passing day. It's also why old people constitute the largest number of Republicans, because inflexibility and aging are related, and it's also why we'll never entirely be free of them.

Frank, nobody respects you. You should be managing a corner used car lot, but the Republican party needed some asshole to shovel agit-prop in the early 2000's, and you were standing around in the right place. Your reputation is unsalvageable. A Las Vegas dumpster prostitute has more dignity.

Recall what positive achievements humanity has made in the recent couple of centuries, then shudder and gape at the archaic and irrational twaddle that issues from those that altogether too many consider leaders.

How is this disparity to be resolved in favor of rationality?

They ALL think Might Makes Right

Until they either aren't the biggest gorilla in the room, someone else is holding the gun, or someone outsmarted them and catches them in a trap, physically, financial or otherwise.

Then suddenly! It's unfair, and cry, cry, biatch, moan.

The worst part, they go right back to that dumbfark thinking the moment they escape the "Now it's happening to me" instance.

Point to someone else in the same situation and it's "Well, fark that guy"

They're bullies and selfish assholes, and that's it.
