The important thing is he won an online argument.

He also probably stopped any updates to that tank because the UK govt could claim they're using the leaked docs to make the changes.

main office in germany , started in moscow, own by tencent , played by all tank fans worldwide.

100% sure that to stay in biz they need to report any kind of undisclosed material used to the respective military as they would be shut down.

wonder if you could pay off some military in africa to publish info on the official tank they are using *wink* 60feet tank with a 500mm main gun, 16 GAU-8 Avenger, 13 tracks, fully amphibious, Nuclear powered engine, supersonic speed. if they are going with official publications ... lol

Current and Ex-military playing mil-sim and military vehicle combat games isn't that uncommon. There are also a lot of technical enthusiasts who play such games. And people getting really involved in how realistic military equipment is replicated in the more sim-like games is pretty common.

There was a brief scandal a little while back where a developer of a mil-sim aircraft game got into a bit of trouble for trying to have declassified flight/operating manuals about the US's F-16  shipped outside the US, which is a crime. It's legal to own the manuals without a security clearance, as long as they or the information isn't transferred outside the country. The developer didn't appear to be a spy, just an enthusiast living abroad who got too invested in obtaining as many actual reference manuals as possible.

I'm not surprised that someone got a little too involved with the game community and lost their head in a moment. But it goes to show that governments should really train over and over on how classified information needs to be treated at all times.

Come on now, who are we talking about here. The only reason the docs were classified is because it proves that they only have one single cup for tea that the entire tank crew has to share, with no place to hold biscuts or for the pot of water to be properly heated up

You are acting like a document that is available to tankers isn't already in the hands of the Russian, Chinese, Americans, French, Germans etc.

Also I find it funny that a mil-sim game that prides itself on real world accuracy over the competition (like WoT) isn't going to update its game based on real world information. Maybe it would make the Chally OP?

It's not really accurate, though, due to Balance. Otherwise WW2 era tanks wouldn't be getting sniped by french EBRs from 1958 in the same match, and many other issues.

Oh please... the lessons of WW2 and the Cold War (version 1.0) were hard learned.

You don't think at least one ammo can is crammed full of biccies & a selection of brews at all times?

I think the most important question now is, will the MMO update their software to correct the differences between the game and the reality referenced in the classified docs?  Because if they don't, what was it all for??

RTFA- the developers said they will not make any changes to the Challenger 2 based on "invalid source material".

Don't be daft. This is a British tank were talking about. Adequate tea making facilities would have been a key design consideration.

Frankly, I'm surprised China didn't troll Trump by starting Twitter rumors that he wasn't actually allowed access to nuclear launch codes... because you know he'd have tweeted them out to prove them wrong.

To be fair it's not just for tea. They use it for meal prep.

This case will be next year's compliance training for Handling Classified Records for government and defense contractors. Let's see how industrial actors use their Drama degree on that one.

Which is a funny way to phrase it, because the problem is the source material is too valid.

The struggle is real.  You can forget that these online PPL are not your friends. Not people you can trust.

Oh wait ... you can't even trust your wife or your parents.  Don't say anything to anyone, because people drink, and talk, and also have poor judgement, and say things.

And your loved ones will be in danger, and be used against you. Has NOBODY seen the original Spider-Man movies?! Sheesh.

Anyone want to claim that my penis is incredibly small to get the truth on that to come out?
