So tired of this squeaky asshole and his "I'm just asking questions"

Why isn't he kicked in the balls everywhere he goes?

The "precident" was removed by votes. The military would be fully within their legal right to escort CITIZEN Tramp from the White House and installing the duly elected leader of America.

You stupid f*cking c^nt.

Because General Milley is not a traitor?

While the joint chiefs have no direct control, I have zero doubt the branches would fall under them if shiat hit the fan. As well as the 3 letter agencies.

IIRC the Joint Chiefs take a direct role in active hostilities when needed. General Powell was certainly on top of things during Desert Storm insofar as General Schwarzkopf was keeping him apprised on an hourly basis of his movements in Kuwait.

Can I just remind everyone that Carlson felt it necessary to do a show about how people aren't allowed to kiss chickens anymore? And brought somebody on that loved to snuggle and kiss their chicken?

Man, those were good times.

I don't know who is in charge of my military or who the Minister of Defence is. No normal person needs to know that stuff. Oh wait, the Minister is Harjit Sajjan. I had to Google him. I mean I see him talk on tv news, I know what he looks and sounds like, he gives a lot of interviews. We had a big military sexual assault scandal recently but frankly I think all of us were too busy pandemicking so we watched him give testimony sometimes but were just like okay this is bad yes yes fix that scandal thing but are we going to be vaccinated yet when does Vassy Kapelos interview another doctor? The point of whoever runs the military is to run the military so nobody has to worry about the military. If you have to worry about who is running the military then you're in a shiathole country, and my friend it has already hit the fan.

Headline 6 words too long: Tucker Carlson proudly admits to the entire country he has no clue who's in charge of the military

Listened to TC's dizinformatsiya for one minute, in which he began by characterizing as a "coup attempt" the suggestion that military officials who urged that if Trump (after losing the election) refused to leave the White House on January 20, Milley might remove Trump by force. (which never would happen, it would be the Secret Service who remove people from the White House)

Then TC suggested that Milley is "not unfamiliar with coups" and the only fact he can cite when Milley refused to use military force against civilians last summer, because Milley upheld the First Amendment rights of the protesters and wrote the military was sworn to defend the Constitution.

Stopped-reading-there.jpeg

The Kremlin does not have to give TC talking points, he is more than willing to slander the Chief of the Joint Chief of Staffs and divide Americans without their help. Although he will accept white supremacist money.

I have many failings. I have done things I have regretted in my life. I know I sometimes do not meet the ideals I set for myself. This makes me despondent.

Then I remember that I'm not nearly as stupid as Tucker Carlson, and I feel good again.

Unlike TV talking heads, military officers have been through civics courses which teach things like the responsibility of the military.

PreMortem: While the joint chiefs have no direct control, I have zero doubt the branches would fall under them if shiat hit the fan. As well as the 3 letter agencies.

Maybe, possibly.

If the "shiat hit the fan" OPCON of the military may fall to the Secretary of Defense even though he's not in direct line of presidential succession, he's the next step down in the military chain of command. Beyond that, USNORTHCOM is the next logical lead agency to direct the military in times of national duress, but again this is assuming the civilian command authority (which, to be clear, is who you REALLY want in charge of the military, at all times) has completely broken down.

The Joint Chiefs and service secretaries exercise administrative control over each of the branches of the military, but they do not have operational control.  Historically that led to clusterfarks, inter-service rivalries that played too close to operational planning and mission execution that led to costly failures.  Combatant commands (geographical and functional) is where you have front of the house, so to speak, doing things the military does that the public at large generally associates with how the military executes.  The service secretaries and joint chiefs are responsible for making sure those combatant commands get the manpower, training, and equipment that's needed for those combatant commands to function.

I could see combatant commanders being deferent to the CJCS if the situation called for it, but they're already set up to be able to function in a way that defends the Constitution and supports or enhances US national security interests.

Ideally, anyway.

You'd think having a network of people at your finger tips to investigate any question you might have would keep you from asking your audience stupid questions, but more than likely no one pays Tucker any attention when he speaks at the studio so he has to crowdsource his answers.

Seems like he slipped in the outage expecting to be corrected. It's preemptively injecting a lie into the beginning of a conversation.  It's the same devil in the details that a fortune teller uses.  Throw enough shiat at the wall and something will stick. Spew enough outage and you can expect to be amazed at peasants tearing down the country.

Umm, SecDef is 6th in line of Presidential Succession, after SecState and SecTreasury, so very much "in direct line"

Just, if you had any questions where the Republicans stood on that one...

"What country is this?" -- where was this question from Carlson when Trump was trying to overturn the election?

make me some tea: How is FoxNews still on our cable lineup?

The same reason OANN and NewsMax were just added to ours... money. Those channels belong at the end of the channel lineup with MTV2 and Comedy Central. But somehow they've managed to wedge in between BBC America and MSNBC.

This is all a massive game for the rich. They honestly do not give two shiats about anything but profit.

I think it's hilarious that he's trying to drum up outrage that US military generals might be anti-fascist.  Anti-fascist?!?!?  No way, not our military!

C'mon, if there's anybody in the world who should be anti-fascist it's the US military.  Their whole reason for being is to protect the non-fascism of America, if you believe America shouldn't be fascist in the first place.  There are some folks who think America should be lead by an aristocracy of wealth - that's just a different flavor of fascism.
