Pista: djslowdive: pc_gator: djslowdive: I always get fooled by the Cure intro's

As Fascination Street is like an hour long, it wouldn't be fair to the other artists.

Simon Gallup actually takes a short nap in the middle.

So does that mean that the live version of A Forest lasts like a year or so? :p

There is one from Kilburn in 1992 that's nearly 20 minutes long & it is seriously epic.
There is a gorgeous broadcast recording of that whole show too .

I have a bootleg taken off the soundboard of that tour and it's like 17 minutes. Also 92 was the first time I saw The Cure.

I have a serious motion here: PastForward should be on the air also on Fridays. Every Thursday evening I think it's Friday and I'm very disappointed when I realize it's not.

PS. Jeez... just without these terrible alarm sounds, please. I've rushed down the stairs to the cellar!

Okay that warning test was weird, my phone has had two weather warnings in the last 20 mins about the incoming storm, and I was trying to figure out how they broke into an internet broadcast originating more than half a continent away..

This MP3 album Ridgeway threw up in "the usual place" is really good
Listening now.
I'll drop $5 for the mp3s to load on my players

https://stanridgway1.bandcamp.com/album/black-diamond

Saw him at the palace soon after he split from WOV.  He appeared to ran out of material during the encore and, it seemed at the time, improvised an encore song... something like "the skull of Elvis" or "ghost of Elvis is after me."  Was a very entertaining show with a great vibe at the time.

we've played them. if you listen to the show at all, you'll hear plenty of shoegaze representation.

indeed you have -
I've bought new records of "old" music of bands I never heard the first go round - The Sound (new vinyl - old record) and Cardiacs (all of the deleted stuff is available on CD on cardiacs.net) - and now revisiting Stan Ridgeway (mp3 only for this record), who never left, but whose later music I never really heard.   Stumbling into your threads and shows has definitely turned me on to music that I pay money to own.

i can't even tell you how much money i've spent on bandcamp. most of the new music i play i've purchased from bc, in fact.

because we're supposed to prioritize new music sent to the station (when possible), and because the kids rip the discs to the station library in mp3 format, i wind up buying the ones i like in FLAC from bc (and then searching for more to boot).

on a side note, i'm assuming you know that any files you purchase on bc, you can download them in as many formats as you like, so i always d/l a lossless version.
